Product Information

The COB1716MBK and COB2816MBK are convertible ceiling fixtures that can be installed as either pendant lights or semi-flush lights. The package includes a ceiling canopy, rods, mounting hardware, fixture body, optional candle covers, crossbar assembly, wire connectors, and outlet box screws. The recommended bulb type is Candelabra (E12) Type B with a maximum wattage of 60W.

Product Usage Instruction

Installation Guide
Follow the steps below to install the COB1716MBK and COB2816MBK:

Option 1: Pendant – COB2816MBK

1. Install rods – Optional rods are provided based on ceiling height. Refer to the manual for the correct number of rods required for your ceiling height.
2. Tighten hex nut inside the ceiling canopy.
3. Install the ceiling canopy to the upper rod.
4. Install the crossbar assembly to the outlet box.
5. Wire the fixture following the color codes provided in the manual.
6. Install the ceiling canopy to the crossbar assembly.
7. Install four correct bulbs based on the fixture markings and/or labels for maximum wattage.
8. Optional: Replace the candle covers on the sockets with the optional candle covers provided.
9. Restore electricity and save this sheet for future reference.

Option 2: Semi-Flush – COB1716MBK

1. Remove the swivel.
2. Install the ceiling canopy to the fixture body supply wire.
3. Cut the supply wires leaving approximately 8 inches of wire extending from the ceiling canopy after assembly.
4. Install the crossbar assembly to the outlet box.
5. Wire the fixture following the color codes provided in the manual.
6. Install the ceiling canopy to the crossbar assembly.
7. Install four correct bulbs based on the fixture markings and/or labels for maximum wattage.
8. Optional: Replace the candle covers on the sockets with the optional candle covers provided.
9. Restore electricity and save this sheet for future reference.

• RISK OF ELECTRIC SHOCK – Before beginning installation, turn off electricity at the circuit breaker box or the main fuse box.
• RISK OF FIRE – Use bulbs specified by the markings and/or labels on the fixture.

CAUTION

• For your safety, read the instructions completely before beginning installation.
• If in doubt about electrical installation, consult a licensed electrician.
• Turn off electricity to fixture before replacing the bulb(s).

TOOLS REQUIRED

CARE AND MAINTENANCE

• Wipe clean using soft, dry cloth or static duster. Always avoid using harsh chemicals and abrasives to clean fixture as they may damage the finish.

1. Install Rods

   • 8 Feet Ceiling:
     (1) 6″L Rod + (1) 12″L Rod.

   • 9 Feet Ceiling:
     (1) 6″L Rod + (2) 12″L Rods.

   • 10 Feet Ceiling:
     (2) 6″L Rods + (2) 12″L Rods.

2. Tighten Hex Nut inside of Ceiling Canopy

3. Install Ceiling Canopy to Upper Rod

4. Install Crossbar Assembly

5. Wiring

6. Install Ceiling Canopy to Crossbar Assembly

7. Install Bulbs
   Install four correct bulbs referring to fixture markings and/or labels for maximum wattage.
   Recommended Bulb type (not included):

Your installation is now complete! Restore electricity and save this sheet for future reference.

IMPORTANT:
This CONVERTIBLE fixture can be mounted as pendant light or semi-flush light. DO NOT CUT SUPPLY WIRES if you intend to use it as pendant light.

OPTION 2: SEMI-FLUSH – COB1716MBK
Set aside (2) 6″L Rods and (2) 12″L Rods since they are not required for the semi-flush installation.

1. Remove Swivel
   • Set aside the swivel since it is not required for the semi-flush installation.
2. Install Ceiling Canopy to Fixture Body
   • Cut the supply wires leaving approximately 8” of wire extending from the ceiling canopy after assembly.
3. Install Crossbar Assembly
4. Wiring
5. Install Ceiling Canopy to Crossbar Assembly
6. Install Bulbs
   Install four correct bulbs referring to fixture markings and/or labels for maximum wattage.
   Recommended Bulb type (not included):

Your installation is now complete! Restore electricity and save this sheet for future reference.
