CUSTOMER-FACING WI-FI MODULE (CFWM)

The Customer Facing Wi-Fi Module(CFWM) is a product that serves as a stripped- down version of Telematics & Network Gateway (TANG). The CFWM shares the same platform as TANG but with only 1 LTE modem and additional Bluetooth function. It runs on the public network side and interacts with customers providing exceptional in-car experiences. The module also serves as the communication anchor for IDCM(Internal Display Control Module) and the in-cabin displays to keep the infotainment system separate from the AV secure network while maintaining connectivity.

Product Usage Instructions

To use the CFWM, connect it to the appropriate IO connectors listed in the CFWM IO Connector Placement section of the manual. Once connected, turn on the device and it will serve as a Wi-Fi hotspot for customers to allow high-speed streaming. The CFWM supports audio and video streaming between the AV and the customer’s mobile devices. To access these features, customers should connect their mobile devices to the Wi-Fi network provided by the CFWM. The CFWM also connects to the Cruise cloud securely to run the speech recognition engine for voice assistance. Please note that any changes or modifications not expressly approved by the responsible party for compliance may void the user’s authority to operate this equipment.

The product comply with the FCC portable RF exposure limit set forth for an uncontrolled environment and are safe for intended operation as described in this manual. The further RF exposure reduction can be achieved if the product can be kept as far as possible from the user body or set the device to lower output power if such function is available. This equipment should be installed and operated with minimum distance 41mm between the radiator& your body.
