Introduction

  • DECT USB dongle DD10K allows you to turn the SIP-T41S/T42S/T54W IP phone to the DECT desk phone (hereinafter referred to as DD phone). After that, you can use the IP phone as a handset with a base station.
  • DECT USB dongle DD10K also allows you to turn the SIP-T58V/T58A/T58W/T56A/T53/T53W/T54W/T57W/VP59 IP phone to the corded-cordless phone. After that, you can use the IP phone as a base station and its handset 1.

The features introduced in this guide apply to the following Yealink IP phones:

  • SIP-T41S/T42S IP phones running firmware V82 or later.
  • SIP-T58V/T58A/T58W/T56A IP phones running firmware V83 or later.
  • SIP-T53/T53W/T54W/T57W/VP59 IP phones running firmware V85 or later.
  • EOL Products: T41S/T42S/T58V/T58A/T56A
  • Frequency bands: 1880-1900 MHz (Europe), 1920-1930 MHz (US).

Assembling the DD10K

To assemble the DD10K:

  1. Insert the DD10K into the USB port on the back of the phone.

If the firmware versions of the DD10K and IP phone do not match, the IP phone will upgrade/downgrade the DD10K.

Getting Started (for T58V/T58A/T58W/T56A/T53/T53W/T54W/T57W/VP59)

Handset Registration Mode

  • Before registering the handset, make sure the IP phone is in registration mode.

To set the IP phone to the handset registration mode:

  1. Insert the DD10K.
  2. Swipe left or right to go to the second idle screen.
  3. Navigate to DECT Settings->Handsets.
  4. Tap Register (press Start Reg for T53/T53W/T54W). Handset Registration
  • You can register up to other four handsets on one phone. The supported handsets include W52H, W53H, W56H, W57R, W59R, W73H, W78H and DD phone.
  • To register the handset when the phone prompts “Unregistered!”, do one of the following:
  • Press the Reg soft key to register quickly.

a.Do one of the following:

  • Press the OK soft key, and then select Register Handset.
  • Press , and then select Settings > Registration > Register Handset.
  • The handset begins searching for the phone.
  • b.Press the OK soft key after a phone is found.
  • c. Enter the base station PIN (default: 0000), and then press the OK soft key to complete the registration.

Note:

  • If the handset is registered to the phone successfully, the phone prompts “Subscribed Succeed”.
  • If the handset prompts “Searching for Base”, check whether your phone is in the handset registration mode or not.

Switching between DD Phone and CC Phone Modes (for T54W)

  1. Assemble the DD10K.
  2. Press the Menu soft key when the phone is idle, and then select Status->Phone Mode.
  3. Select the desired mode and click OK.

The phone will reboot to make the change take effect.

Checking the Dongle Status

(for T58V/T58A/T58W/T56A/T53/T53W/T54W/T57W/VP59)

To check the dongle status for T58V/T58A/T58W/T57W/T56A /VP59:

  1. Insert the DD10K.
  2. Swipe left or right to go to the second idle screen.
  3. Navigate to Settings->Status->Dongle.

To check the dongle status for T53/T53W/T54W:

  1. Insert the DD10K.
  2. Press the Menu soft key when the phone is idle, and then select Status->Dongle Status.

Getting Started (for T41S/T42S/T54W)

  • DD Phone Mode
  • Before using a IP phone as a DECT desk phone, you should enable the DD phone mode first.

To enable the DD phone mode when the IP phone is powered on (only for firmware version 84 or later):

  1. Insert the DD10K.
    • The phone screen prompts you whether to switch to the DD phone mode.
  2. Press the OK soft key to continue, and the phone switches to the DD phone mode after rebooting.
    • To enable the DD phone mode when the IP phone is powered off:
  3. Insert the DD10K.
  4. Power on the IP phone.
    The IP phone switches to the DD phone mode automatically after startup.
  • If you purchase the DD10K package, you should manually register the DD phone to one Base station.

Registration

  • You can register the DD phones to W70B/W80 Multi-Cell System/W90 Multi-Cell System. Each DD phone can be registered to only one base station.

  • Before registering the DD phone, make sure the base station is in registration mode (long press on the base station till the registration LED flashes).

  • To register the DD phone when the phone prompts   Unregistered!”, do one of the following:

  • • Press the Reg soft key to register quickly.
    a.Do one of the following:

  • Press the OK soft key, and then select Register Handset.

  • Press , and then select Settings > Registration >

Register Handset.

  • The IP phone begins searching for the base station.
  • b. Press the OK soft key after a base station is found successfully.
  • c. Enter the base station PIN (default: 0000), and then press the OK soft key to complete registration.

Note:

  • If the DD phone is registered to the base station successfully, the phone prompts “Subscribed Succeed”.
  • I f the DD phone prompts “Searching for Base”, check whether your base station is powered on or not.

Basic Call Features (for T41S/T42S/T54W)

Call Mute and Un-mute

  • Press to mute the microphone during a call.
  • Press again to unmute the call.
  • Call Hold and Resume
  • To place a call on hold:
  • Press the Hold soft key during an active call.

To resume the call, do one of the following:

  • If there is only one call on hold, press the Resume soft key.
  • If there is more than one call on hold, press or selects the desired call, and then presses the Resume soft key.

Call Transfer

  • You can transfer a call in the following ways:

Blind Transfer

  1. Press the Transfer soft key during an active call.
  2. The call is placed on hold.
  3. Enter the number you want to transfer to.
  4. Press the Transfer soft key.

Semi-Attended Transfer

  1. Press the Transfer soft key during an active call. The call is placed on hold.
  2. Enter the number you want to transfer to, and then press.
  3. Press the Transfer soft key when you hear the ring-back tone.

Attended Transfer

  1. Press the Transfer soft key during an active call. The call is placed on hold.
  2. Enter the number you want to transfer to, and then press.
  3. Press the Transfer soft key when the second party answers. Call Forward

To enable call forward:

  1. Press the Menu soft key when the phone is idle, and then select Features->Call Forward.
  2. Select a desired account.

Select the desired forward type:

  • Always Forward —-Incoming calls are forwarded unconditionally.
  • Busy Forward– –Incoming calls are forwarded when the phone is busy.
  • No Answer Forward- —Incoming calls are forwarded if not answered after a period of time.
  • Enter the number you want to forward to. For No Answer Forward, press or select the desired ring time to wait before forwarding from the After Ring Time field.
  • Press the Save soft key to accept the change.

Conference

  1. Press the Conf soft key during an active call. The call is placed on hold.
  2. Enter the number of the second party, and then press the Send soft key.
  3. Press the Conf soft key again when the second party answers. All parties are now joined into the conference.
  4. Press the End Call soft key to disconnect all parties.
Speed Dial

To configure a speed dial key:

  1. Press the Menu soft key when the phone is idle, and then select Features->DSS Keys.
  2. Select the desired DSS key, and then press the Enter soft key.
  3. Select SpeedDial from the Type field, select the desired line from the Account ID field, enter a label in the Label field and then enter the number in the Value field.
  4. Press the Save soft key to accept the change.

To use the speed dial key:

  1. Press the speed dial key to dial out the preset number

Customizing Your Phone (for T41S/T42S/T54W)

Handset Name

To rename the handset:

  1. Press the Menu soft key when the phone is idle, and then select Settings->Basic Settings->Phone Name.
  2. Edit the value in the Phone Name field.
  3. Press the Save soft key to accept the change.

Call History

  1. Press the History soft key when the phone is idle, and press or to scroll through the list.
  2. Select an entry from the list, you can do the following:
  • Press the Send soft key to call the entry.
  • Press the Delete soft key to delete the entry from the list.
  • Press the Option soft key, do the following:
  • Select Detail to view detailed information about the entry.
  • Select Add to Contact to add the entry to the local directory.
  • Select Add to Blacklist to add the entry to the blacklist.
  • Select Delete All to delete all entries from the list
Contact Directory

To add a contact:

  1. Press the Directory soft key when the phone is idle.
  2. Press the Add soft key to add a contact.
  3. Enter a unique contact name and contact numbers in the corresponding fields.
  4. Press the Add soft key to accept the change.

To edit a contact:

  1. Press the Directory soft key when the phone is idle.
  2. Press the Add soft key to add a contact.
  3. Enter a unique contact name and contact numbers in the corresponding fields.
  4. Press the Add soft key to accept the change.

To edit a contact:

  1. Press the Directory soft key when the phone is idle.
  2. Press or select the desired contact, press the Option soft key and then select Detail from the prompt list.
  3. Edit the contact information.
  4. Press the Save soft key to accept the change.

To delete a contact:

  1. Press the Directory soft key when the phone is idle, and then select All Contacts.
  2. Press or to select the desired contact, press the Option soft key and then select Delete from the prompt list.
  3. Press the OK soft key when the phone prompts “Delete selected item?”.

Volume Adjustment

  • Press during a call to adjust the receiver volume of the handset/speakerphone/headset.
  • Press when the phone is idle or ringing to adjust the ringer volume.

Ring Tones

  1. Press the Menu soft key when the phone is idle, and then select Settings->Basic Settings->Sound->Ring Tones.
  2. Press or to select Common or the desired account , and then press the Enter soft key.
  3. Press or to select the desired ring tone.
  4. Press the Save soft key to accept the change.

General Requirements

  • Before you install and use the device, read the safety instructions carefully and observe the situation during operation.
  • During the process of storage, transportation, and operation, please always keep the device dry and clean.
  • During the process of storage, transportation, and operation, please avoid collision and crash of the device.
  • Please attempt not to dismantle the device by yourself. In case of any discrepancy, please contact the appointed maintenance center for repair.
  • Without prior written consent, no organization or individual is permitted to make any change to the structure or the safety design of the device. Yealink is under no circumstance liable to consequences or legal issues caused by such changes.
  • Please refer to the relevant laws and statutes while using the device. Legal rights of others should be respected as well.

Environmental Requirements

  • Place the device at a well-ventilated place. Do not expose the device under direct sunlight.
  • Keep the device dry and free of dusts.
  • Place the device on a stable and level platform.
  • Please place no heavy objects on the device in case of damageand deformation caused by the heavy load.
  • Keep at least 10 cm between the device and the closest object for heat dissipation.
  • Do not place the device on or near any inflammable or fire-vulnerable object, such as rubber-made materials.
  • Keep the device away from any heat source or bare fire, such as a candle or an electric heater.
  • Keep the device away from any household appliance with strong magnetic field or electromagnetic field, such as a microwave oven or a refrigerator.

Operating Requirements

  • Do not let a child operate the device without guidance.
  • Do not let a child play with the device or any accessory in case of accidental swallowing.
  • Please use the accessories provided or authorized by the manufacturer only.
  • The power supply of the device shall meet the requirements of the input voltage of the device. Please use the provided surge protection power socket only.
  • Before plugging or unplugging any cable, make sure that your hands are completely dry.
  • Do not spill liquid of any kind on the product or use the equipment near water, for example, near a bathtub, washbowl, kitchen sink, wet basement or near a swimming pool.
  • Do not tread on, pull, or over-bend any cable in case of malfunction of the device.
  • During a thunderstorm, stop using the device and disconnect it from the power supply. Unplug the power plug and the Asymmetric Digital Subscriber Line (ADSL) twisted pair (the radio frequency cable) to avoid lightning strike.
  • If the device is left unused for a rather long time, disconnect it from the power supply and unplug the power plug.
  • When there is smoke emitted from the device, or some abnormal noise or smell, disconnect the device from the power supply, and unplug the power plug immediately. Contact the specified maintenance center for repair.
  • Do not insert any object into equipment slots that is not part of the product or auxiliary product.
  • Before connecting a cable, connect the grounding cable of the device first. Do not disconnect the grounding cable until you disconnect all other cables.

Cleaning Requirements

  • Before cleaning the device, stop using it and disconnect it from the power supply.
  • Use a piece of soft, dry and anti-static cloth to clean the device.
  • Keep the power plug clean and dry. Using a dirty or wet power plug may lead to electric shock or other perils.

ENVIRONMENTAL RECYCLING

  • Never dispose of the device with domestic waste
  • Ask your Town Council about how to dispose of it in an environmentally friendly way. The cardboarc box, plastic packaging and player components may be recycled in accordance with prevailing recycling regulations in your country.
  • Always adhere to prevailing regulations
  • Those who fail to do so may be fined or prosecuted in accordance with the law. The crossed out garbage can that appears on the device means that when it has reached the end of its useful life, it should be taken to a special waste disposal centre and treated separately to general urban waste.

Troubleshooting

  • The unit cannot supply power to Yealink device.
  • There is a bad connection with the plug.
  1. Clean the plug with a dry cloth.
  2. Connect it to another wall outlet.

The usage environment is out of operating temperature range.

  1. Use in the operating temperature range.
  2. The cable between the unit and the Yealink device is connected incorrectly. 1. Connect the cable correctly.

You cannot connect the cable properly.

  1. You may have connected a wrong Yealink device.
  2. Use the correct power supply.

Some dust, etc., may be in the port.

Clean the port.
