Intended Use

This device is intended for professional use as load-bearing element in the entertainment technology. It shall be used only on keder track aluminum profiles. Any other use, not mentioned under intended use, is regarded as non- intended and incorrect use.

Warnings and Safety Instructions

Incorrect installation can cause serious injuries and damage of property.

This product may be installed only by instructed or skilled persons.

  • Do not exceed the working load limit (WLL) as indicated on the device and in this user manual.
  • When the device is used together with other accessories, make sure that the working load limit (WLL) of each component is not exceeded.

For professional use only This device shall be used only for the purposes it is designed for.

This device is intended for professional use as a load-bearing element in the entertainment technology. It shall be used on keder track aluminum profiles. Any incorrect use may lead to hazardous situations and result in injuries and material damage.

  • Do not use the device on aluminum profiles with parameters different from those indicated in this user manual.
  • Do not modify the device. Unauthorized modifications to the device will render the warranty void. Such modifications may result in injuries and material damage.
  • Use the device only in environments with an ambient temperature between -20 °C and 60 °C.

Before every use, examine the device visually for any defects

  • Follow the inspection schedule established for the site.
  • Check the device for damage, cracks and corrosion. If any fault is found, mark the device clearly and remove it from service.
  • Do not use the device if it is damaged.

Requirements for the User

DANGER
This product may not be used by ordinary persons.

This product may be used only by instructed or skilled persons. Installation and maintenance may be carried out by instructed or skilled persons. Service shall be carried out only by skilled persons. Contact your Highlite International dealer for more information.Instructed persons have been instructed and trained by a skilled person, or are supervised by a skilled person, for specific tasks and work activities associated with the installation, service and maintenance of this product, so that they can identify risks and take precautions to avoid them. Skilled persons have training or experience, which enables them to recognize risks and to avoid hazards associated with the installation, service and maintenance of this product. Ordinary persons are all persons other than instructed persons and skilled persons. Ordinary persons include not only users of the product but also any other persons that may have access to the device or who may be in the vicinity of the device.

Description of the Device

The Tent Clamp is an adjustable clamp, suitable for use with keder track aluminum profiles (50–100 mm). It is available in two colors: silver (75160) and black (75161).

Installation

Safety Instructions for Installation

WARNING
Incorrect installation can cause serious injuries and damage of property.

Installation must be carried out only by instructed or skilled persons. Follow all applicable European, national and local safety regulations concerning rigging and trusting.

Personal Protective Equipment

  • During installation and rigging wear personal protective equipment in compliance with the national and site-specific regulations.

Mounting

CAUTION
Restrict the access under the work area during installation/deinstallation.

Attention
Do not use brute force when loosening or tightening the handle nut.

To mount the device, follow the steps below:

  1. Turn the handle nut (03) counterclockwise until both clamp arms (04/05) fit in the grooves of the keder track aluminum profile (Fig. 04).
  2. Turn the handle nut (03) clockwise until the device is mounted firmly in position (Fig. 05).SHOW-GEAR-V1-Tent-Clamp-FIG-4
  3. Secure the device with a secondary suspension, for example a safety cable, rope or a chain. Put the secondary suspension through the safety hole (01).
  4. Use a clamp or an eye bolt to attach the load to one of the 5 x mounting threads (02). See 4.3.1. Working Load Limit on page 9 for more information.SHOW-GEAR-V1-Tent-Clamp-FIG-5

Working Load Limit

Attention
Make sure that the load capacity of the supporting structure is sufficient before attaching a load to the device.Follow all applicable European, national and local safety regulations concerning the installation of equipment over persons.

The device shall be installed in a horizontal orientation. The WLL (Working Load Limit) of the device depends on which of the 5 x mounting threads (02) the load is attached to. See Fig. 07.SHOW-GEAR-V1-Tent-Clamp-

Inspection and Maintenance

Attention
Inspection and maintenance may be carried out only by instructed or skilled persons. Service shall be carried out only by skilled persons.

Inspection

Attention Before every use, examine the device visually for any defects

Regular and periodic inspections shall be carried out throughout the period of service of the device. The frequency of the inspections depends on the inspection schedule established for the site where the device is installed.

  • Check the device for damage, cracks and corrosion. If any fault is found, mark the device clearly and remove it from service.
  • Do not use the device if it is damaged.

Corrective Maintenance

  • Do not modify the device.
  • Refer repairs and servicing to skilled persons. Contact your Highlite International dealer for more information.

Basic Cleaning Instructions

  • Use a damp cloth to clean the device.
  • Do not use alcohol, solvents or abrasive agents.

Deinstallation, Transportation, and Storage

Instructions for Deinstallation

WARNING
Incorrect deinstallation can cause serious injuries and damage of property.

  • Restrict the access under the working area during deinstallation.
  • Always observe the national and site-specific regulations during de-installation of the device.
  • Wear personal protective equipment in compliance with national and site-specific regulations.

Instructions for Transportation
Make sure that appropriate measures are taken to prevent damage to the device during transportation.

Storage

  • Inspect the device for defects before storing it. See 5.1. Inspection on page 9 for more information.
  • Clean the device before storing it. Follow the cleaning instructions in chapter 5.3. Basic Cleaning Instructions on page 10.
  • Store the device in a dry, ventilated environment to avoid corrosion.

Disposal

After the device is removed from service it can be disposed of as scrap.
