SAFETY TRIANGLE

WARNING: Risk of electrical shock. Disconnect power to the installation area at the fuse box or circuit breaker before beginning installation. Always use caution when handling electrical wiring.
Verify that the supply voltage is correct. Connect fixture to a 100VAC-240VAC 50/60Hz power source.
Properly ground fixture. DO NOT INSTALL if a working earth ground connection is not available.
Always follow local electrical code standards when installing wired connections.
CAUTION: Risk of fire. Do not install near combustible or flammable surfaces.
NOTICE: Do not connect this light fixture to a dimmer-switch or timer.
Blink Wired Floodlight Camera must be mounted to a 4“ round UL-listed weatherproof electrical box. If you don’t have an existing electrical box, or are unsure how to install one in compliance with your local building electrical codes, it is recommended that you hire a licensed electrician for assistance.
Blink Wired Floodlight Camera must be installed on a wall or eave.
Check to see that all contents within the box are present. If you notice anything is missing, do not attempt to install the Floodlight Camera.

In order to complete installation of your Blink Wired Floodlight Camera, you will need an outdoor silicone sealant, which is not included with this product. Ensure you have an outdoor silicone sealant available before beginning installation.
These instructions assume you’re replacing an existing floodlight mounted to an outdoor electrical box with the Blink Floodlight Camera.
These instructions are for informational purposes only. Working with electricity can be dangerous unless proper safety precautions are taken. If you are not comfortable or are inexperienced with the processes and tools described in this manual, consult a licensed electrician.

  1. Before you continue, turn off power at the breaker. This step is essential to keeping you and your new Blink product safe.
    a.
    b. If you’re not sure which breaker to turn off, turn off the master breaker for your home, or contact a licensed electrician.

  2. Choose an existing floodlight to replace with the Blink Floodlight Camera.
    a.
    b. For the best motion detection, the Wired Floodlight Camera should be installed around 9 feet (2.7 meters) above the ground.

  3. Get ready for installation. Unpack the screws, metal mounting bracket, and the S-hook. Unpack the floodlight camera. That’s all you’ll need for now.

  4. Remove your existing floodlight and mounting bracket. Uninstall according to the manufacturer’s instructions. Be sure to remove any wires, wire nuts, screws, and hardware that came with the device.

  5. Using a handheld screwdriver, install the metal mounting bracket. Make sure the side marked “Front” is facing you. Screw it down across two opposing holes on your electrical box. Ensure the metal mounting bracket is secure to the electrical box before moving to the next step.
    a. The “A” screws are likely to fit, but if they don’t, try the “B” screws, then the “C” screws, and so on.
    b.

  6. Inspect the wires in your electrical box. You should see one black wire (for live), one white (for neutral), and one bare metal or green (for ground).

    WARNING: If you can’t easily identify the wires coming out of your electrical box, have difficulty or are ncomfortable in any way connecting them, consult a licensed electrician.

  7. Connect the wires from your box to your floodlight camera.
    a. Use the provided S-hook to hang the floodlight camera using the center light head’s arm as shown on the picture.
    b. You will be connecting your bare metal or green ground wire to green, white to white, and black to black. Take one pair of color-coded wires, strip off 3/4″ of the outer insulation, twist the bare wire together, and screw your wire nut on clockwise. Repeat for the two remaining pairs of wires until all three pairs are securely fastened together.

  8. Align the light fixture to the electrical box.
    a. Tuck the power wires into the electrical box, then lift the floodlight and remove the metal S-hook. Line up the center hole with the threaded post from mounting bracket and slide the fixture onto the post. Use a Phillips-head screw driver to install the threaded nut marked “I” onto the post.
    b. Insert the silicone plug (H) into the screw hole. Use appropriate outdoor silicone sealant (not included) to seal around the outside of the floodlight between the canopy and the house.

  9. Adjust the light heads and camera into the desired position.
    a.

  10. Restore power at the breaker.
    a. It may take a moment for your floodlight camera to power on. It will be ready when the green light is illuminated and the blue light is blinking slowly.
    b.

  11. Download or open the Blink Home Monitor App. In the top right corner, select (+) Add Devices, then select Wired Floodlight Camera. When prompted, scan the QR code on the top right cover of this guide to access your device serial number.

  12. Follow the in-app instructions to complete setup.
