condair COT Outdoor Mount Temperature Sensor
This document covers the operation and installation instructions for the following Condair outdoor mount temperature sensor:
The humidity controller used together with COT temperature sensor reads the outdoor air temperature measured by the COT temperature sensor and reduces the humidity control set point during cold weather operation to prevent condensation on windows and building structures.
Product Information
The COT Outdoor Mount Temperature Sensor is a device used to measure the outdoor air temperature. It is designed to work with a humidity controller to reduce the humidity control set point during cold weather operation, preventing condensation on windows and building structures. The sensor conforms to EMC Standard 89/336/EEC EMEI Standard 73/23/EEC EN 61 000-6-1/EN 61 000-6-3 and has a degree of protection of IP 65 to EN 60 529. It has a safety class of III (IEC 60536) and is made of fireproof PC + ABS plastic. The device weighs 80g (2.8oz), and its dimensions are 33 x 60 x 50 mm (1.3 x 2.4 x 2 in).
Product Usage Instructions
- Choose an appropriate location for the sensor installation.
- Attach the base plate to the wall using screws or adhesive tape.
- Connect the sensing probe wires to the terminal connectors according to the wiring diagram provided in the manual.
- Insert the sensing probe into the cover until it snaps into place.
- Place the cover over the base plate and align the screw holes.
- Insert the cable through the cable gland and connect it to the circuit in the cover.
- Tighten the cable gland to secure the cable in place.
- Assemble the cover with the base plate, making sure that the seal in the seal groove of the cover is not damaged and in place.
- Tighten the four screws of the cover with moderate torque to complete the installation.
Note: For wiring schematic, get the Condair Sensor Connect App.
Installation Instructions
Location: The COT temperature sensor must be installed on a flat vertical
surface protected from direct sunlight and rain.
Installation: Refer to the installation overview in section 2.
- The cable gland must face downwards.
- To install the sensor, remove cover.
- Place seal and washer below the long mounting screw. Securely fix it to wall.
- Thread wires through cable gland or conduit connector
- Connect the wires, normally 18 ga unshielded twisted pair, according to the wiring diagram to the measuring circuit in the cover
- Tighten cable gland.
- Assemble the cover with the base plate. Make sure the seal in the seal grove of the cover is not damaged and in place.
- Tighten the four screws of the cover with moderate torque to complete the installation.
