NTI ST-FOUSBVARS-LC VGA and USB Extender via Fiber Optic Cable

The ST-FOUSBVARS-LC is a VGA and USB extender that allows you to extend your computer’s VGA display, USB keyboard, and mouse up to 6.2 miles (10 kilometers) away using a single strand of fiber optic cable.

Product Usage Instructions

  1. Connect the VGA cable from your computer’s VGA output to the VGA IN connector on the local unit.
  2. Connect the VGA cable from the VGA OUT connector on the local unit to a VGA monitor.
  3. Connect a USB keyboard and mouse to the USB Type B Female connector on the local unit.
  4. Connect the included AC adapter to the DC 5V connector on the local unit and plug it into a power outlet.
  5. Connect the fiber optic cable to the fiber transceiver connector on the local unit and run it to the remote unit.
  6. Connect the VGA cable from the remote VGA OUT connector to a VGA monitor.
  7. Connect a USB keyboard and mouse to the USB Type A Female connectors on the remote unit.
  8. Connect the audio cable from the PC to the audio in/out connectors on the local and remote units.
  9. Connect the RS232 cable from the PC to the RS232 screw terminal on the local and remote units.
  10. Connect the included AC adapter to the DC 5V connector on the remote unit and plug it into a power outlet.

INTRODUCTION

The XTENDEX® VGA USB KVM Extender via Fiber Optic Cable provides remote KVM (USB keyboard, USB mouse and VGA monitors) access to a USB computer up to 12.4 miles (20 kilometers) away from a computer using a single LC single-mode fiber optic cable and 1,640 feet (500 meters) using multimode fiber optic cable. Each extender consists of a transmitter that connects to a computer and also supplies video to a local monitor, and a receiver that connects to two VGA monitors, USB keyboard, USB mouse, 3.5mm stereo audio speakers and microphone, and RS232.

  • VEXT-F-xx-MM VGA Male-to-Male Cable with Ferrites to connect to a VGA source or display.
  • SA-xx-MM male to male 3.5mm stereo audio cables to connect self-powered speakers.
  • USB2-AB-x-5T male USB Type A to male USB Type B cable to connect source.

Use a simplex LC single-mode 9-micron fiber optic cable to extend the receiver from the transmitter up to 12.4 miles (20 km).
