RAK Hotspot V2 Wireless Hotspot Miner

Product Information

The RAK Hotspot v2 is a device that allows users to participate in the Helium network by providing wireless coverage and mining cryptocurrency called HNT. The device comes with a 32 GB microSD card and a USB Type-C power adapter. It has a SIM card slot for cellular versions but it is not hot-swappable, so users must switch off the gateway before inserting or ejecting the SIM card to avoid any damage.

Product Configuration

For Antenna Mounting Scenarios and proper connectivity chain, refer to the guide provided by the manufacturer. Users can download the Helium App for both Android and iOS devices. The app can be manually searched or users can just scan the QR Code provided in the user manual to download it.

Account Security

Users will be asked to input a seed phrase during the setup of their account. It is a sequence of 12 words that can be used to recover or transfer their accounts between phones. It is important to keep this seed phrase safe and secure as it will be needed in case of account recovery or transfer.

Product Usage Instructions

1. Insert the included 32 GB microSD card into the RAK Hotspot v2.
2. Insert the USB Type-C power adapter into the device and plug it into a power outlet.
3. Power on the device by pressing the button. Note that if you need to connect to the app again in the future, you only need to press the button.
4. Download the Helium App on your Android or iOS device and follow the setup process.
5. During the setup of your account, input a seed phrase. Keep this seed phrase safe and secure as it will be needed in case of account recovery or transfer.
6. For Antenna Mounting Scenarios and proper connectivity chain, refer to the guide provided by the manufacturer.
7. If you have a cellular version, switch off the gateway before inserting or ejecting the SIM card to avoid any damage.

WARNING

Power on the RAK Hotspot

WARNING
Before powering on, the best advice is to follow the guidelines below to avoid damaging the RAK Hotspot. Familiarize the interfaces of the product as shown in the Interfaces section of the RAK Hotspot Datasheet

1. Attach the LoRa Antenna.

2. When you are ready to set up your RAK Hotspot, plugin, and connect the included power supply to the USB-C
   port on the RAK Hotspot.

3. After approximately one minute, the RAK Hotspot will be ready to be added via the Helium app. Press the pairing button on the side to enable the hotspot Pairing mode.

4. Select Set up Hotspot in the app and follow the prompts, press the Pairing button as requested.

NOTE
If in the future you need to connect to the app again, you only need to press the button.
