Blue Flame BTHF-2 Single Burner Hotplate

Attention!
According to the Gas Safety Ordinance of Hong Kong, any gas installation works including the installation of appliances and connection tubing, must be undertaken by registered gas installers who are registered for that appropriate classes and be employed by registered gas contractors.

Important Safety Instructions

Thank you for choosing BlueFlame products. The following instructions are very important to safety operation of gas appliance. Please read through them carefully. For any enquiries and service requests, please call Towngas Customer Services Hotline 2880 6988 .

Installation

1. For gas connection, please use rigid pipe to connect the appliance, or other appropriate methods accepted by EMSD.
2. Do not put any combustible materials near or under appliance, e.g. paper and plastic. Keep it from combustible materials with more than 15cm distance.
3. Install the appliance in a well-ventilated room.
4. Place the appliance on a stable and level surface.
5. Connect the appliance with approved flexible gas hose.
6. Gas hose can be placed under appliance, however it must be placed horizontally and close to cooking bench in order to avoid touching burner base part.
7. The minimum distance between the pan support surface and the lowest part of the range hood should be 750mm.
8. Place pan supports, burner caps correctly.
9. Do not use built-in hob with pan support positioned Improperly .
10. It is dangerous because cooking utensil becomes unstable if pan support is fixed improperly.

Operation

1. In case of suspected gas leak, open windows and shut off gas meter valve. Do not operate any electric appliances or switches. Do not use any phones on site. Contact Towngas Emergency Hotline on 2880 6999 with a phone outside the premises.
2. Do not use appliance for any purposes other than cooking, e.g. drying clothes.
3. This appliance is designed for domestic use only, do not it use for commercial and industrial0 purposes.
4. Do not add aluminum discs to burners. This will incur combustion problem.
5. Open the windows and turn on ventilation system before operating appliance.
6. Do not leave operating appliance unattended.
7. Do not fill water including soup ingredients over two-thirds of utensil volume when boiling water or soup. Spilled liquid of boiling will affect combustion and damage the gas hob.
8. Heed high temperature of top-plate, burners and pan supports.
9. Do not use utensil of excessive size. When using small utensil, reduce flame power that flame does not escape from utensil bottom. TU. Ensure stability of utensil resting on pan support. Hold utensil firmly if it slips easily.
10. Do not put weight exceeding 10kg on each pan support.
11. Pan support is heavy. Do not drop it.
12. Ensure that burners are not deformed. Contact Towngas Company to replace the parts if there is abnormality.
13. Before ignition, ensure the burners and pan supports are in correct position and do not incline.
14. Ensure that flame holes of burners are free from water and dirt.
15. Aeration is preset at manufacturing, please do not attempt to adjust it.
16. Do not allow children to use or get close to appliance.
17. Do not press the knob more than 10 seconds. If the burner is not ignited after 10 seconds, wait at least 1 minute before making further attempt.
18. Always use utensils with cover and make sure that the handles of the utensils are correctly positioned to avoid heating and collision of handles.
19. Do not use sprays near the appliance.
20. All control knobs should be turned to ” OFF ” position after operation.

Product Description

The appliance is designed to meet versatile cooking needs in Hong Kong. It is equipped with pizeo-electric ignition system without using any battery. Rotary control knob for flame control is convenient and easy to use. Strong flame is suitable for Chinese cooking. Stainless top plate which is easy to clean and attractive. II is equipped with flame failure safety protection device. In cases of unexpected flame extinguishment, gas is shut off automatically to ensure safety.

Instructions

Ignition of Gas Burner
Outer ring and inner ring burner can be control by independent rotary flame control knob. Press and rotate the control knob anti -clockwise to the maximum position. Release knob when flame is ignited. After releasing the knob, make sure the flame per­sists, otherwise repeat the operation.

Note : Control knob should not be pressed for more than 10 seconds. If the burner is not lit after 10 seconds, wait for1 minute before making further attempt.

Flame Control
After ignition, turn the knob to adjust flame power according to cooking needs. Adjust flame power according to the following diagrams.

Notice : When the flame is too weak, it may be extinguished by wind. The safety device is actuated to stop gas flow.

Flame Extinguishing
Turn the control knob backwards to the ” OFF ” position to extinguish the flame.

Maintenance Instructions

Allow the appliance to cool down before performing any maintenance and cleaning.

Cleaning Gas Hob

• Regularly use neutral cleaning agent and semi-wet sponge or cloth to clean the burner and pan supports. Then use a dry cloth to wipe it.
• Any spilled food or liquid during cooking must be cleaned properly as soon as possible.
• Do not touch any internal parts of appliance. Wear gloves to prevent from cut injury when cleaning.
• Check the gas hose regularly. If it is cracked, call Towngas Company to replace it immediately.

Cleaning Burner

• Use brush and mild detergent to clean burner caps.
• Do not use any bleaching agents, alkaline or acidic agents. Otherwise, the coating of burner will be damaged.
• Dry burner completely with dry clothes after cleaning. Flame holes must be free from water lest combustion is affected.
• Notice burner condition, ensure that they are not deformed or tilled. Flame holes should be not blocked.

Trouble Shooting

Dry electrode with tissue or dry cloth.

1.2 Install battery at backup Battery box.

Call Towngas Company for maintenance.

2. No flame| 2.1 Gas supply valve and/or appliance isolation valve are turned off.|

Open gas supply valve and/or appliance isolation valve completely.

2.2 Burner is blocked by aluminum

disc.

| Remove aluminum disc.
3. Flame cannot be held| Not fully push ON/OFF button.| Fully push ON/OFF button until flame is ignited. Hold it for a while.
4. Flame off when using| Small flame is blown off by wind. This activates the flame failure safety device.| Wait for several seconds and restart ignition.
5. Yellow flame| Burner have dirt.| Clean burner in warm water with detergent. Dry it and place it correctly. Restart ignition.
6. Unstable flame| Incorrect placement of burner.| Allow burner to cool down. Refit burner correctly. Restart ignition.
Burner is deformed| Call Towngas Company to replace burner.
