Battery Options

LA30 is powered by dual power sources: the built-in Li-ion battery (3.7V 1800mAh) or 2 AA batteries. When AA batteries are installed, LA30 runs on AA batteries by default.

NOTE: The stated data has been measured by using a built-in Li-ion battery (3.7V 1800mAh) and 2 AA Ni-MH batteries (1.2V 2450mAh) under laboratory conditions. End-user results may vary due to individual usage habits and environmental conditions.

Operating Instructions

Battery installation

  1. Unscrew the screw on the bottom of the LA30 to open the battery cover;
  2. Install 2 AA Ni-MH batteries while observing the polarity marks inside the battery compartment;
  3. Close the battery cover and tighten the screw.

White Light
ON/OFF
TURN ON: When the light is off, press and hold the power switch for 0.6 seconds to turn on the low white light.
TURN OFF: When the light is on, press and hold the power switch for 0.6 seconds to turn off the light.
Changing White Light brightness levels
When the white light is on, tap the power switch to cycle through “low-mid- high”.
Direct access to High mode
When the light is off, press and hold the power switch; the LA30 will first enter Low mode and then cycle to High mode. Release the power button to select High mode.
Red Light
ON/OFF
Turn on: When the light is off, double tap the power switch to turn on the red light(low).
Turn off: When the light is on, press and hold the power switch for about 0.6 seconds to turn off the light.
Changing Red Light brightness levels
When the red light is on, tap the power switch repeatedly to cycle through “Red Light(low)-Red Light(high)-Red Beacon-Red SOS”.
ATR
With incorporated Advanced Temperature Regulation module, the LA30 regulates its output and adapts to the ambient environment to maintain optimal performance.
Positioning
With the light turned on, hold down the power switch for 3 seconds to turn the light off, which in turn activates the power indicator to blink once every 2 seconds. This serves to alert users to the location of the LA30. With the LA30 fully charged, it will remain operational for 6 months with the power positioning activated, and 12 months in standby with the positioning deactivated.
Power Tips
When the light is switched off, tap the power switch once to activate the built-in red power indicator. The power indicator will flash to indicate the remaining battery level of the built-in Li-ion battery:

  1. 3 flashes represent battery level above 50%.
  2. 2 flashes represent battery level below 50%.
  3. 1 flash represents battery level below 10%.

NOTE:

  1. When the battery level is low (below 8%), only Low or Mid mode will be accessible.
  2. When the battery level is depleted, the LA30 can not be switched on. If long pressing or tapping the switch twice quickly, the light will be unresponsive due to over discharging protection.
  3. Recharge the lantern or install AA batteries when the battery level is low.

Charging

Power on: Connect one end of the USB cable to the LA30, and the other end to a USB power sources (adapter, computer or other power supplies) as shown in the diagram. It takes about 5 hours to recharge the LA30.
Charging tips: When charging is in progress, the red indicator will illuminate steady to notify users. It will turn green upon charging completion.

NOTE:

  1. Only the Built-in Li-ion battery can be recharged via USB cable and the charging will be not affected by the installation of AA batteries.
  2. LA30 allows illumination even during charging. When the input voltage is insufficient, only Low or Mid mode will be accessible.

Cautions

  1. Avoid direct eye contact.
  2. Charge the LA30 before the first use.
  3. For long term storage, recharge the lantern semi-annually.
  4. This packaging contains small assembly parts. Keep away from children to avoid danger of choking or suffocation.
  5. Do not disassemble or modify this product, as doing so voids the warranty.

Warranty Details

All NITECORE products are warranted for quality. Any DOA/defective product can be exchanged for are placement through a local distributor/dealer within the 15 days of purchase. After 15 days, all defective/malfunctioning NITECORE® products can be repaired free of charge for a period of 24 months from the date of purchase. Beyond 24 months, a limited warranty applies, covering the cost of labor and maintenance, but not the cost of accessories or replacement parts.

The warranty is nullified in all of the following situations:

  1. The product(s) is/are broken down, reconstructed and/or modified by unauthorized parties.
  2. The product(s) is/are damaged through improper use.
