Fever Alarm

If the detected body temperature exceeds 100.0°F/37.8 <>C the thermometer will sound an alarm:

“bl-bl-bl—bl-bl-bl-“.The alarm indicates a fever may be approaching.

Fever Indication

  • Over 100.00F/37. SoC; elevated temperature – fever may be approaching!
  • 99.1-99.9″F/37.3-37.7<>C; slightly elevated temperature
  • <99.00F/<37.2<>C; normal temperature

  • Memory Function
When the thermometer is switched on, the last measurement will be shown for 2 seconds. Press the button again to tum the thermometer off. When the thermometer will remain turned on, the result will be overwritten by the new measurement.

Methods Of Measuring Temperature

It is important to remember that the accuracy of the body temperature reading depends on the measurement position. When keeping track of the results, the measurement position must always be specified in order to ensure that a correct temperature reading Is recorded.

Rectal Measurement
From a medical point of view, this Is the most accurate method because the temperature at this measurement position is closest to the core body temperature. The thermometer tip is inserted carefully Into the rectum for a maximum of 2 cm (1”). The usual measuring time Is approximately 20 seconds.

Oral Measurement
There are different heat zones in the mouth. As a general rule, the oral temperature Is 0.3-0.8°C (0.5-1.4°FJ lower than the rectal temperature. To ensure that the reading is as accurate as possible, place the thermometer tip to the left or right of the root of the tongue. The thermometer tip should remain in constant contact with the tissue under the tongue during the reading. The mouth should remain closed during the reading. The usual measuring time is approximately 20 seconds.

Important! As eating, drinking, and breathing through the mouth influence the temperature of the mouth tissue, we highly recommend not eating, drinking, or breathing through the mouth within 3 minutes before taking an oral measurement.

Axillary Measurement is NOT recommended
It is NOT recommended to use this device for taking axillary (underarm) temperature measurements. This quick-reading thermometer will not accurately measure the axillary temperature.

Switching The Temperature Scale ( 0C Or 0F)
First, make sure the thermometer is switched off. If it is still switched on, press the button once to switch off. When the thermometer is off, press and hold the button for 3 seconds to switch the measuring scale. The new scale 0C or 0F is now saved.

Cleaning And Disinfection

The best way to clean the thermometer tip is by applying a disinfectant (e.g., 70% ethyl alcohol) with a damp cloth. This waterproof thermometer can be immersed in lukewarm water for thorough cleaning and disinfection.

Safety Precautions

  • Do not expose the thermometer to hot water over 50 0C (122 0F).
  • Do not expose the thermometer to high temperatures or direct sunlight.
  • Do not drop the thermometer. It is neither shockproof nor impact-resistant.
  • Do not open the device except the battery compartment.
  • Do not bend the device except for the flexible tip.
  • Avoid bending the tip by more than 45 degrees.
  • Do not clean with thinners, petrol, or benzene. Only clean the thermometer with water or disinfectant.
  • Do not immerse the thermometer under water deeper than 15cm(6″) for longer than 5 minutes.
  • The thermometer contains small parts (including a battery) which can be swallowed by children.
  • For this reason, do not leave the thermometer unattended in the hands of children.
  • If the ambient temperature is over 35 0C (95°F) dip the thermometer tip in cold water for 10 seconds prior to taking a measurement.
  • Persistent fever, in particular in children, has to be treated by a doctor. If this occurs, please get in touch with your doctor!

Battery Replacement

The battery is empty and needs replacing when the battery symbol appears on the right of the LCD.

To replace the battery: Lay the thermometer with the button downwards on a flat surface.

Remove the screw: Pull off the battery cover. Gently slide out the circuit board with the battery chamber, up to 1 cm (0,5″).
