Product Information: EC900-8MM / EC910-8MM

The EC900-8MM and EC910-8MM are compact industrial computers designed for various applications. They are equipped with LAN, USB, HDMI, COM, and digital I/O ports for connectivity. The systems feature a DIN-rail mount chassis for easy installation and an antenna hole for wireless communication. The systems also support M.2 cards for storage expansion.

Jumper Settings:
The jumper settings for the X IOJP1 port are as follows:

Jumper Setting Description
2-4 On VCCP 5V (Default)
3-5 On DIO 5V (Default)
1-3 On DIO 3V3 (Default)
2-4 On VCCP 3V3 (Default)

Product Usage Instructions:

Removing the Chassis Cover:
To remove the chassis cover, follow these steps:

  1. Make sure the system and all other peripheral devices connected to it have been powered off.
  2. Disconnect all power cords and cables.
  3. Remove the 2 screws on the both sides of the system that secure the cover to the chassis and put them in a safe place for later use.
  4. Slide the cover to open the system.

Installing an M.2 Card:
To install an M.2 card, follow these steps:

  1. Insert the card into the socket at an angle while making sure the notch and key are perfectly aligned.
  2. Press the end of the card far from the socket down until against the stand-off.
  3. Screw tight the card onto the stand-off with a screw driver and a stand-off screw until the gap between the card and the stand-off closes up. The card should be lying parallel to the board when it’s correctly mounted.

Installing an Antenna:
To install an antenna, follow these steps:

  1. Make sure the PC and all other peripheral devices connected to it has been powered down.
  2. Disconnect all power cords and cables.
  3. Remove the rubber plug covering the antenna hole on the right side of the system.
  4. Connect the internal cable to the board’s antenna connector, screw the antenna connector through the antenna hole with washers and nuts, and screw on the antenna as illustrated in the manual.

Mounting Options:
To mount the system using DIN-rail mount, follow these steps:

  1. Use the provided mounting screws to attach the DIN-rail mount bracket to the top side of the system.
  2. Install the system onto the rail.

Removing the Chassis Cover
Please observe the following guidelines and follow the instructions to open the system.

  1. Make sure the system and all other peripheral devices connected to it have been powered off.
  2. Disconnect all power cords and cables.

Step 1:
The 2 screws on the both sides of the system are used to secure the cover to the chassis. Remove the screws and put them in a safe place for later use.

Installing an M.2 Card
Please follow the steps below to install the card into the socket. DFI EC900

Installing an Antenna
Before installing the antenna, please make sure that the following safety cautions are well attended.

  1. Make sure the PC and all other peripheral devices connected to it has been powered down.
  2. Disconnect all power cords and cables.

Step 1:
There are antenna holes reserved on the right side of the system and by default
covered by rubber plugs. Please remove the plug prior to installing an antenna.

Step 2:
Connect the internal cable to the board’s antenna connector, screw the antenna connector through the antenna hole with washers and nuts, and screw on the antenna as illustrated below.

Mounting Options
The system features DIN-rail mount chassis that facilitates fast installation of the EC900- 8MM/EC910-8MM to a DIN rail.+

The DIN Rail mount kit includes the following:

  • Din-rail mount bracket
  • 2 screws

Step 1:
Use the provided mounting screws to attach the din-rail mount bracket to the top side of the system.
