To properly time set it is important to note that Position 3 should be set prior to Position 2.
Position 0: Screwed-down Position
- The crown is completely screwed against the case.
Position 1: Winding Position
- In this position you can wind the watch manually by turning the crown clockwise.
- As you wind you can see the power in the mainspring increase by looking at the power reserve indicator.
- When the power reserve is full you can stop winding.
Position 3: Setting Home Time (or reference time)
- With the crown unscrewed pull the crown outwards to the second notch. The seconds hand will stop for more accurate time setting.
- Turn the crown clockwise to set the Home hand and minutes correctly.
- Ensure that the day/night indicator matches the correct time of day to the home hand.
- You can also set the date in this position by continually winding the hands past 12 o’clock however “Position 2” is far faster.
- Once home and minutes are set push the crown in once to “Position 2”. If completely finished with time setting be sure to push in and screw down the crown.
Position 2: Quick Set Date & Local Time
- With the crown unscrewed pull the crown outwards to the first notch.
- Set the date by turning the crown counter clockwise. The date will quickly jump through the days.
- Set the local time by turning the crown clockwise.
- The local hand will jump in one hour increments.
- Take note that the date is linked to the local hand.
- Once set be sure to push in and screw down the crown.
Advice for Travelling
- When travelling adjust local time only and keep the home time or reference the same. This ensure accurate minutes and seconds are kept.
- Unscrew crown and pull out to the first notch (Position 2).
- Set local time by simply turning the crown clockwise.
- The local hour hand will move in hour increments.
- The date is linked to the local hour hand and the date will change automatically when the hour hand passes midnight.
