The Electronic Hookswitch (EHS) is a device that allows you to answer and end calls remotely, without the need for a mechanical lifter. Follow these instructions to set up your EHS:

  1. Unplug the power cord from the headset base. Set the RHL/DHSG switch on the bottom of the base to RHL.
  2. Set the compatibility switch to 1 TELEPHONE CONNECTOR jack (the smaller jack, second from the right).
  3. Connect the Y-side of the EHS to the AUX jack (the largest jack in the center of the base) and the telephone jack.
  4. Connect the other side of the EHS cable into the HEADSET JACK of the Avaya or Shoretel Phone.
  5. Next plug the Ring Sensor into the small jack on the EHS Cable Box.
  6. Remove the white tape from the Ring Sensor and firmly stick the sensor over the speaker of the phone.
  7. Lastly, plug your power cable back in to the back of the charging base.

INSTALLATION INSTRUCTION

  1. Unplug the power cord from the headset base. Set the RHL/DHSG switch on the bottom of the base to “RHL.”
  2. Set the compatibility switch to “1”
  3. Connect the Y-side of the Electronic Hookswitch (EHS) to the headset base in both the AUX jack (which is the largest jack in the center of the base) and the TELEPHONE CONNECTOR jack (the smaller jack, second from the right).
  4. Connect the other side of the EHS cable into the HEADSET JACK of the Avaya or Shoretel Phone.

  6. Remove the white tape from the Ring Sensor and firmly stick the sensor over the speaker of the phone.
  7. Lastly, plug your power cable back into the back of the charging base.
