FACTORY AFTERMARKET F-250 2020+ Ford LED Fog Light Kits

Tech Tip : This is a great time to install the lights onto the light bar to make sure everything fits correctly.

SET-UP

Ensure the vehicle is placed on a level surface, with the transmission in PARK, the tires chocked, and the emergency brake ON. (Wear safety glasses from this point forward.)

REMOVING THE PLASTIC TRIM COVER TO ACCESS THE BUMPER BOLTS

The factory front bumper bolts are located on either side of the factory tow hooks, in sets of two. GENTLY remove the plastic trim covers (Driver & Passenger Side) around the front tow hooks (shown in diagram below). There are three (3) plastic clips holding them in place.

Locate Bumper Bolts and Metal Tabs

These Tabs are located on the driver side and passenger side of the bumper (shown in the photo below). The metal tab being removed is behind the factory plastic valance piece you removed in Step#2, and will not be seen when finished.

Trimming the Metal Tabs

(While it is possible to install the light bar by bending these tabs, we strongly recommend trimming them off.) Trim the metal tabs along the red- dotted line as shown in the diagram below. These metal tabs being removed are behind the factory plastic valance piece that you removed on each side and will not be seen when finished. (You can use a paint pen or touch-up paint to coat the exposed metal.)

REMOVING THE LOWER BUMPER BOLTS ON EACH SIDE

Remove the lower front bumper bolt using an 18mm socket, as shown in Step #3 Diagram as the “X”.

Valance or No Valance?

If you are handy you can do this, or have your buddy help you! While the plastic bumper valances are off the truck, use either 1/8” pin line tape (recommended) or the straight edge of blue masking tape. Find the Center Line of the Bumper Bolts vertically, run a large enough strip of tape along that parallel, have it sweep over onto the bumper as in the diagram below (labeled

1). Now find the horizontal Center Line of the lower bumper bolts and run a

long enough piece of 1/8” pin line tape so that it wraps up onto the bumper on both sides.

Re-Install Bumper Valances

Leaving the Tape Guidelines in place from Step #6, re-install the bumper valances. Once in place, use the existing edges of the tape lines on the bumper to then re-create those guidelines now on the face on these plastic valances. After you have measured everything and double-checked tape lines, drill a small pilot hole where those tape lines intersect, (shown as “X” on the diagram below). The light bar tube diameter is 1.75”; so at minimum, a 2” Hole Saw Bit is recommended.

Tech Tip : You can always start with a smaller pilot hole to make sure you are where you need to be. Then work your way up to a bigger diameter size hole of what needs to be trimmed off this plastic valance, to clear for the light bar.

Tech Tip : This is the Best Time to install the lights onto the light bar, to make sure everything fits correctly, Before installing the light bar on the truck.

  • Blue Masking Tape is also recommended along the painted or chrome bumper surfaces, near where the light bar will be attaching to prevent any accidental scratches.

INSTALLING THE LIGHT BAR

With the help of a friend, lift the light bar (with lights securely attached) into place so that it is lined up with the outer/lower factory bumper bolt holes, then hand thread the 18mm bumper bolts back into place to prevent cross threading. Before tightening down the bolts completely, now is the Best Time to connect any plugs/wiring behind the lights.

Then, tighten down the bumper bolts completely

Locking hardware for the off-road lights and the actual light bar itself, are also recommended and available through us.
