Product Information

The FR23 blender, manufactured by Trevidea, is a household appliance designed for blending fruits and vegetables. The technical model of the blender is DZ-1703. It has a measuring lid, cover with safety device, handle, glass jug, blades unit, motor body, and control knob with 2 speeds + PULSE option. The blender has protection class and should not be exposed to rain and humidity. The blades of the blender are sharp and should be handled with care during cleaning and removal of preparations. The appliance should not be operated by means of an external timer or separate remote-control system.

Product Usage Instructions

  1. Before using the unit for the first time, carefully wash all parts in hot water and detergent. The motor body should be cleaned with a damp cloth and non-abrasive detergents.
  2. Place the motor body on a flat and stable surface.
  3. Insert the glass jug into the motor unit. To insert, bring the handle on the right of the unit, push down and turn clockwise until it locks into place.
  4. Add fruits or vegetables to the glass jug. Do not exceed the maximum capacity indicated on the jug.
  5. Close the measuring lid and cover with safety device.
  6. Plug the appliance into an electrical outlet, unroll the power cord before every use.
  7. Turn the control knob to select the desired speed or pulse option.
  8. After use, unplug the appliance and detach the glass jug from the motor unit.
  9. Clean the glass jug, blades unit, and cover with safety device with a non-abrasive sponge and dish detergent. Dry them before reattaching them to the motor unit. Clean the motor body with a damp cloth.

SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS

The following are important notes on the installation, use and maintenance; save this instruction manual for future reference; use the equipment only as specified in this guide; any other use is considered improper and dangerous; therefore, the manufacturer cannot be held responsible in the event of damages caused by improper, incorrect or unreasonable use.
Before use, ensure the equipment is undamaged; if in doubt, do not attempt to use it and contact the authorized service center; do not leave packing materials (i.e. plastic bags, polystyrene foam, nails, staples, etc.) within the reach of children as they are potential sources of danger; always remember that they must be separately collected. Make sure that the rating information given on the technical label are compatible with those of the electricity grid; the installation must be performed according to the manufacturer’s instructions considering the maximum power of the appliance as shown on the label; an incorrect installation may cause damage to people, animals or things, for which the manufacturer cannot be considered responsible there of.
If it is necessary to use adapters, multiple sockets or electrical extensions, use only those that comply with current safety standards; in any case do not exceed the power consumption limits indicated on the electrical adapter and / or extensions, as well as the maximum power shown on multiple adaptor.
Do not leave the unit plugged; better to remove the plug from the mains when the device is not in use. Always disconnect from power supply if you leave it unattended. Cleaning operations should be carried out after unplugging the unit.
If the unit is out of order and you do not want to fix it, it must be made inoperable by cutting power cord.

  • Do not handle or touch the appliance with wet hands or bare feet. Do not expose the appliance to harmful weather conditions such as rain, moisture, frost, etc.. Always store it in a dry place.
  • Do not allow the power cord to get closer to sharp objects or in contact with hot surfaces; do not pull it to disconnect the plug.
  • Do not use the appliance in the event of damage to the power cord, plug, or in case of short circuits; to repair the product only address an authorized service center.
  • This appliance cannot be used by children, even if they’re more than 8 years old.
  • This appliance can be used by persons with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities or lack of experience and knowledge if they received supervision or instruction concerning use of appliance in a safe way and understand the hazards involved.
  • Children must not play with the appliance.
  • Keep the appliance and its cord out of reach of children less than 8 years.

If the power cord is damaged, or in case of failure and / or malfunction do not tamper with the unit. The reparation must be done by manufacturer or by service center authorized by the manufacturer in order to prevent any risk. Failure to comply with the above may compromise the unit safety and invalidate the warranty.

  • This appliance is intended to be used in household and similar applications such as: staff kitchen areas in shops, offices and other working environments; by clients in hotels, motels and other residential type environments; farm houses, bed and breakfast type environments.
  • The appliance is not intended to be operated by means of an external timer or separate remote-control system.
  • Before every use, unroll the power cord.
  • Use original spare parts and accessories only.
  • Do not subject the product to strong impacts, serious damages may result.

GENERAL INSTRUCTIONS

  • Before using the unit for the first time, carefully wash all the parts and accessories intended to come in touch with food, such as the container, lid, rostrum and blades.
    CAUTION: close the lid before start processing the  food. Disconnect the power plug from the socket before touching any accessory, especially the blades. If some food stops the blades, before removing the food,unplug the device from the electrical outlet.

  • Bring knob on “0” (OFF) position before inserting the plug in the socket.

  • Do not insert too large pieces of food inside container, especially hard foods. It is recommended to pre-chop food. Do not process very hot food (maximum temperature 60 Celsius degree).

  • Never leave the appliance unattended while it is running. Do not let the appliance running continuously for more than 2 minutes, make at least 5 minutes rest.

  • For a better cleaning, it is recommended using warm tap water and restricting the use of detergents. In this case, rinse thoroughly. Do not immerse the motor unit in water or other liquids; clean the motor housing with a damp cloth. Blades and rostrum are very sharp: be careful not to cut himself during cleaning or when removing the accessories.

  • At the end of the process, wait for the blade to completely stop before removing the food from the container. Once you finished using the unit, it is recommended to wrap the power cord so as to ensure a better cleaning and to avoid any risk of damage.

  • Never exceed the maximum quantity indicated on the container. When processing fruits, it is recommended to remove the pit and peel.

OPERATING

  1. Place the motor body (6) on a flat and stable surface.
  2. Insert the glass jug (4) in the motor unit (6). To insert, bring the handle (3) on the right of the unit, push down the joint of the jug (5) in the unit and turn it clockwise until it locks; perform this procedure correctly, otherwise the safety device does not allow any operation.
  3. Place food inside the container (4) without exceeding maximum capacity of 600ml.
  4. Install cover (2) over the glass jug (4): press the cover until it fits completely with the glass.
  5. Plug appliance and turn control knob (7) to “I” (low speed), “II” (high speed) or “P” (PULSE). When using, always keep the cover in the case; if some food blocks the blades, unplug the unit before removing it.

Do not operate the blender for more than 1 minute continuously, let it cool down for at least 3 minutes. Blender is suitable for: milkshakes, smoothies, sorbets, ices, sauces, creams, cocktails etc … For a best result, work foods at the lower speed first and then finish with the highest.

SAFETY DEVICE

  • This unit is equipped with a safety device: the device only works if the glass jug (4) is correctly assembled into the motor unit (6). If you remove the glass, or if it is not inserted properly, the motor shuts off. In this case, assemble the motor unit and the glass jug again.

FIRST USE – Removing and installing the glass jug a few times without plugging the unit and without adding fruits or vegetables. Follow these steps to practice with the appliance. Wash the lid and the blender jar in warm water using some dish detergent. Accessories with electrical parts (such as the motor block) should be cleaned with a damp cloth and dry immediately.

CLEANING
Unplug the unit from the electrical outlet.

  •  Do not immerse the motor unit in water, but wash it with a damp cloth and non-abrasive detergent. Also avoid any infiltration of water inside the motor unit.
  • Glass jug, blades and lid can be washed like every day crockery with non-abrasive sponge and dish detergent. Dry them completely before you assembling the motor unit again.

For a quick cleaning of the blades between different processes, fill the jug halfway with tap water and operate for a few seconds.
