Charging and fitting rechargeable battery

  • Only use the charger supplied with the tool. Only this charger is suitable for recharging the tool’s battery.

Note :
The battery is supplied partially charged on account of international shipping regulations.

  • Before using for the first time, fully charge the battery (2 – 3 hours) to extend battery life.
  • Push the charged battery into the battery holder until it clicks into place.
  • Press the battery release button to remove the battery and pull it off. When doing so, do not use force.

The battery charge level indicator shows the battery’s remaining capacity when the tool is switched ON. If the temperature selection button flashes red after heating up, the battery has less than 30 % of its capacity and should be recharged.

Gluing
The area you are gluing must be free of grease, dry and absolutely clean. Glue marks on clothing cannot be removed. Drips of glue are best removed when cold.

  •  Insert glue stick into heating duct.
  • When using for the first time, you must press the feed trigger several times to fill the heating chamber with glue. It may be necessary to give the glue stick a short push.
  • Press trigger and apply glue to one side.
  • Firmly press together the materials being glued, correcting alignment if necessary.
  • Final bonding strength is reached after a very short time (approx. 2 minutes). Spot gluing is recommended on long items with large surfaces.
  • At the 130 °C temperature setting and using “low melt” glue sticks, you can also glue rigid foam (e.g. polystyrene). It is important to remember to apply the hotmelt adhesive on the base surface and not, for example, on the polystyrene.
  • When gluing textiles or similar materials, it is recommended to apply the hotmelt adhesive in “wavy” lines.
  • Let the tool cool down after use.
  • If necessary, use weatherproof and moisture resistant PUR glue sticks on the 130 °C temperature setting.

Note:
When changing from a glue stick applied at 130 °C to one applied at 200 °C, the glue may initially be much more fluid as it leaves nozzle.
