  • The voltage of 230 V AC specified on the rating plate of the device must correspond to the existing mains voltage.

  • Never lift, transport or fix the device by the power cord.

  • Make sure that the electrical plug connections are protected from flood or moisture.

Resistance

  • The maximal temperature of the pumped liquid should not exceed +35 ℃ in continuous operation.
  • The pumping of aggressive liquids (acids, alkalis, silo seepage, etc.) as well as liquids with abrasive substances (e.g., sand) must be avoided.

Electrical connection

  • The electrical connection is made to an earthed socket with 230 V ~ 50 Hz. Fusing at least 6 A.
  • The motor is protected against overloading or blocking by the built-in thermal motor protection.
If the device is overheating, the motor overheating protection automatically switches off the pump; after it has cooled down, the pump switches on again automatically.

Note:
Assembly and installation

  • The container must be pre-filled before first use to avoid damages. The built-in pump is not selfpriming. Any damage caused by the pump running dry is not covered by warranty.
  • Before assembly, clean the individual parts with clean water; make sure that water flowing from the filter plate is clean.
  • During assembly, make sure that the dirt suction nozzle and water level inside the device are on the same level and that the water intake or the pump are submerged in the water.
  • Before switching on the energy supply, mount and insert all intake pieces and filter material, then fill the water container until water flows out.
  • If a filter is used on the water container, this does not need to be filled with water; in this case, however, the pump must be submerged completely before switching on the energy supply.
  • If water flows out of the cartridge after a certain period of use, the cartridge must be cleaned or replaced.

Operation

After carefully reading the installation instructions, you can start the new pump if you note the following aspects:

  1. Check if the pressure pipes have been installed properly.
  2. Make sure that the electrical connection is 230 V ~ 50 Hz.
  3. Check if the socket is in proper working order.
  4. Make sure that moisture or water never reaches the mains connection.
  5. Avoid that the pump runs dry.
  6. The pump must not be used without a filter basket; the filter basket protects the pump from coarse dirt that could lead to constipation of the pump.

Maintenance and cleaning

Attention: Before any maintenance or cleaning, pull out the plug!

  • Regularly clean the filter media. To do this, do not use solvents or caustics.
  • It is advisable to replace the filter media each 30–45 days. With more fish living in the water, the filter media should be replaced more often.
  • Note: To clean the individual parts of the hang-on filter, never use soap nor detergent. Neither coarse nor hard objects must be used to clean them.
  • If not using the device for a prolonged period, operate it with clean water, dry the individual parts, and stock them properly and safely.
  • With the temperature falling below 0 ℃, the device must be unplugged and taken out of the water to prevent it from being damaged by frost.
