INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS
PRE-INSTALLATION NOTES
- Select a site that gets direct sunlight and is not blocked by trees, buildings, structures etc.
- Confirm that no light sources will shine on the solar panel during the night time hours. The solar panel functions like a photo-cell. If there is light on the solar panel, the LED lights will not come on.
- The light needs 1-2 days to get on the proper charge/discharge cycle. Do not expect the best performance the first nights that the light is in operation.
INSTALLATION
- Confirm that the pole is strong enough to support EPA 1.0 SF, and a weight of 15 lbs. If any extreme, or abnormal conditions exist, please take these into account.
- Carefully remove light from packaging. Be careful not to damage the solar panel. Never place the solar panel or an uneven or rocky surface. Place it on a flat surface with a towel, blanket or other type of soft material for protection.
- Remove any protective film or coverings from the light.
- Attach the bracket to the light fixture using the 4 screws.
- Place the light on the tenon or pole. A 3” pole or tenon is recommended.
- Tighten down the lock screws.
- Ensure that the light is on by pressing the power button (see picture on page 2).
- Ensure that the batteries are installed in the remote control and any plastic battery blockers are removed.
- Press the “On” button on the remote to ensure that the fixture turns on, and then set the desired mode using the remote control.
OPERATION AND ADJUSTMENTS
REMOTE CONTROL
- The remote control allows the program to be adjusted to provide multiple modes of operation.
- There is a low battery over-ride that will dim the light if it hits a certain threshold. If the light dims frequently, then choose another program with lower power usage.
- The remote control range is about 25 feet.
MAINTENANCE
- For best performance and safety, please ensure that there is a program to routinely check the light. In particular, the solar panel must be clean, as well as the lenses for the LED light.
- Check that the pole, slip-fitter mounting, etc. are tight, and in good condition.
