Using your Rescue ® Power Pack to Jump Start Vehicles or Equipment
Before using your portable power pack, you should fully charge it. The fully charged indicator light will come on when the unit has been charged. Recharge every 30 days or when the gauge indicates less than full charge. Fluctuations in temperature can accelerate battery discharge. Check your unit often.
WARNING – Risk of Battery Explosion, Fire or Failure

  • Failure to keep internal battery charged will lead to permanent battery damage.
  • Connecting a discharged battery to charged system could cause overheating or explosion.

To jump start a vehicle or machine:

  • Make sure the power switch is OFF.
  • Connect the red (positive +) clamp to the positive terminal or post on the discharged battery.
  • Connect the black (negative –) clamp to a ground away from the battery, such as an alternator bracket.
  •  Turn the power switch ON.
  • Start the engine.
  • Turn the power switch OFF.
  • Disconnect the clamps, first negative and then positive.

Use your power pack safely

  • Do not use the portable power pack if any cable clamp or cord is damaged.
  • Do not short circuit the unit. Don’t touch the clamps to any conductive material.
  • Always wrap the cables back into position and store the clamps properly.
  • If your Rescue portable power pack requires service, follow the directions in the warranty section. Do not attempt to repair the unit or replace parts. Unauthorized repairs will void your warranty.
  • Check vehicle battery terminals before using the power pack; clean them if necessary.
  • After approximately 10 seconds of continuous cranking, if the disabled vehicle fails to start, stop and wait for 1 minute. This prevents damage to your power pack and to your vehicle’s system from overheating.
  • No lubrication is recommended or required.
  •  Avoid storing in direct sunlight, in extreme heat or cold, or very moist areas.

Air compressor Models 950, 1060
The built-in air compressor is operated from the back of the Rescue unit. The air hose is equipped with a clamp-on Schrader valve connector to fill tires. Additional adaptors are included to fill air mattresses, balls, etc. The switch turns the compressor on and off and a pressure gauge is provided.
Power inverter Model 1060
A 300W power inverter is provided on the back of the unit with two AC outlets. The outlets are switched. The inverter is a modified sine wave inverter, which means it will work well for power tools, lighting, and most small appliances. Electronics that modulate RF signals, speed controllers found in some fans and tools, rechargers for batteries and metal halide arc lights may be damaged by modified sine wave inverters. If you have critical electronics like computers, televisions, etc. verify the power requirements before using the Rescue ®1060. For best performance, make sure the Rescue ® 1060 is fully charged before using the AC inverter. Following are estimated run times for AC appliances
Using the Rescue 1060:

AC-powered Products Watts **Run Time (hours)***
