Important Safety and Product Information

WARNING

Failure to heed the following warnings could result in an accident resulting in
death or serious injury.

Health Warnings

  • Consult your physician before using this product if you are pregnant or if you think you may be pregnant.
  • Always consult your physician before beginning or modifying any exercise program.
  • The Garmin® device, accessories, and related data are intended to be used only for recreational purposes and not for medical purposes, and are not intended to diagnose, monitor, treat, cure, or prevent any disease or condition.

Smart Trainer Warnings

  • Read all instructions carefully before using the trainer. Smart trainers include the smart bike trainers, direct-drive trainers, and wheel-on trainers.
  • This trainer is designed for indoor, home use only. Use the trainer on a flat surface that is clear of any obstructions.
  • The trainer should be used for exercise and fitness purposes only.
  • Always use your best judgement, and operate the trainer in a safe manner.
  • lways keep younger children and pets away from trainer while in use.
  • Do not let younger children use or play with the trainer.
  • Older children or persons with reduced physical, sensory, or mental capabilities or lack of experience and knowledge should not use this trainer without proper supervision.
  • Always wear appropriate exercise clothes and cycling shoes.
  • For direct-drive and wheel-on trainers, the rear axle must be properly affixed to the trainer. The bike frame should not touch the trainer.
  • For direct-drive trainers, the rear axle must be installed properly. Failure to tighten and firmly close the quick release lever may result in injury or property damage. To see a video, go to www.garmin.com/tacx/axle.
  • Do not use the trainer if the trainer is not working properly.
  • Do not touch or make contact with the wheels, flywheel, rotating disk, or fans while using the trainer. These components may become very hot during  use.
  • When subject to prolonged, extreme use, the enclosure around the trainer’s brake, flywheel, and rotating disk may become very hot. Always allow these components to cool down after use before touching them. When not in use, store the trainer out of reach of younger children and pets.
  • Turn off and unplug the trainer when it is not in use.
  • Turn off and unplug the trainer before cleaning or performing any maintenance procedures.
  • Replace worn or damaged parts with Garmin parts only. Contact a Garmin dealer, or go to support.garmin.com.

Magnet Warning
Both the device and its mount may contain magnets. Under certain circumstances, magnets may cause interference with some internal medical devices, including pacemakers and insulin pumps. Devices and mounts that contain magnets should be kept away from such medical devices.

Trainer Notices

  • Improper use and/or maintenance of the trainer will void the warranty.
  • To avoid imbalance or vibration while using the trainer, do not drop the trainer during assembly.
  • Do not disassemble or otherwise manipulate the trainer.
  • Do not use the trainer in damp areas. Avoid exposing the trainer to perspiration, condensation, and precipitation. Store the trainer in a dry area at room temperature.
  • Wipe off the trainer after every use. The trainer should be cleaned only with a dry cloth and should not be exposed to cleaning solvents or abrasives.
  • Keep the trainer clean and free of debris.
  • Inspect the nuts and bolts on the trainer for proper tightness on a regular basis.

Magnet Notice
Both the device and its mount may contain magnets. Under certain circumstances, magnets may cause damage to some electronic devices, including hard drives in laptop computers. Use caution when devices and  mounts that contain magnets are near electronic devices.

Tacx ®Limited Warranty

THIS LIMITED WARRANTY GIVES YOU SPECIFIC LEGAL RIGHTS, AND YOU MAY HAVE OTHER LEGAL RIGHTS, WHICH VARY FROM STATE TO STATE (OR BY COUNTRY OR PROVINCE). GARMIN DOES NOT EXCLUDE, LIMIT OR SUSPEND OTHER LEGAL RIGHTS YOU MAY HAVE UNDER THE LAWS OF YOUR  STATE(OR COUNTRY OR PROVINCE). FOR A FULL UNDERSTANDING OF YOUR RIGHTS YOU SHOULD CONSULT THE LAWS OF YOUR STATE, COUNTRY OR PROVINCE.
The warranty period for new Tacx products is 2 years, calculated from the date of purchase, or, if the product is not delivered immediately on the date of purchase, the date that the product is delivered. The limited warranty only applies to the first owner of the product and only if an original proof of purchase can be furnished. Limited Warranty

  1. Should a material and/or manufacturing defect occur within the warrantyperiod, Tacx will repair the defect and/or replace the defective part/product at no additional cost. Should such repair or replacement not be possible, or cannot reasonably be expected of Tacx , Tacx reserves the right to reimburse the market value of the part or product that has been returned.

  2. If a part or product is replaced within the warranty period, the original warranty period will still apply to that replaced part or product. The original  warranty period is never extended or renewed by part or product replacement.

  3. When a defect arises, Tacx must be notified in writing as soon as possible, but no later than two months after the defect has been discovered or should have been discovered.

  4. This warranty is invalid and will not apply if the defect is the result of:a) maintenance work/repair work not carried out by Garmin or Tacx ;
    b) improper use of the part or product and/or, use of the part or product for a purpose other than the purpose for which the part or product is intended;
    c) the use of parts that are not original Tacx parts;
    d) changes to the product, which have been implemented without permissionfrom Garmin or Tacx ;
    e) normal wear and tear and/or poor/improper maintenance;
    f) external influences, such as external electrical interference or moisture penetration (perspiration, condensation, precipitation or others).

  5. This warranty does not apply to damage to the product which occurs while
    the product is being shipped/transported.

Warranty Procedure

  • Contact a Garmin and/or Tacx authorized service facility in the original country of purchase, or contact support.garmin.com to have the issue analyzed. If you are in the United States, you can also call 1-800-800-1020.
  •  If, after the analysis, Garmin determines the product is defective, follow the instructions provided by Garmin. A warranty claim will only be accepted after receipt of the original proof of purchase and, where applicable, a fully completed service form from a Garmin authorized service facility.
  • The decision on whether a defect in a part or product exists and is covered by the warranty rests solely with Garmin.
