BROAN BNAP-100 Smart Air Purifier
Product Information
The Smart Air Purifier (BNAP-100) is an intelligent air purifier that helps to purify the air in your home or office. It is ENERGY STAR certified and is measured based on a ratio between the model’s CADR for Smoke and the electrical energy it consumes, or CADR/Watt. The air purifier has Zero Ozone Emissions, which means that the measured Ozone Emissions from BNAP-100 during use phase does not exceed 0.005 ppm as tested by UL 867.
The air purifier is made in China to the quality standards and specifications of Broan-NuTone LLC, 926 West State Street, Hartford, Wisconsin, USA 53027. It conforms to UL std. 507 and is certified to CSA std. C22.2 NO. 187. The air purifier requires a 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi network and is app compatible with iOS and Android. Product Usage Instructions
Safety:
Before using the air purifier, always read, follow, and save all safety
directions provided in the instruction manual.
Product Setup
- Turn over the air purifier and remove the filter by rotating it counterclockwise until the two dots are aligned.
- Take out the filter, remove the plastic covering, then take the adapter out before using. Put the filter back and rotate it clockwise until the arrow points to “on” with a click.
- Place the air purifier on a firm, level floor with at least an 8 inch distance between the air inlets and walls or nearby furniture.
- Connect the power adapter to the power port at the bottom of the unit. Then connect the power adapter to a power outlet.
How to Use
After setting up the air purifier, follow these steps to use it:
- Press the power button on the control panel to turn on the air purifier.
- The air purifier will automatically adjust to the optimal fan speed based on the air quality in the room.
- If you want to manually adjust the fan speed, press the fan button on the control panel to cycle through the different fan speeds (low, medium, high).
- The air purifier has a 3-in-1 filter with a pre-filter, HEPA filter, and activated carbon filter. The filter needs to be replaced every 6 months depending on usage.
App Connectivity
The air purifier can be connected to an app on your iOS or Android device.
Follow these steps to connect:
- Download and install the app from the App Store or Google Play Store.
- Make sure your device is connected to a 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi network.
- Open the app and follow the instructions to connect the air purifier to your Wi-Fi network.
- Once connected, you can control the air purifier from your device, monitor air quality, and get filter replacement reminders.
Care & Maintenance
To keep your air purifier working effectively, follow these maintenance
tips:
- Replace the filter every 6 months depending on usage.
- Clean the air inlet and outlet grills with a soft brush or vacuum cleaner every 3 months.
- Do not wash the filter, as this can damage it.

General Information
- Only use your air purifier as described in this manual.
- Do not use without removing the plastic wrap from the filter. The purifier will not filter air, and may overheat, causing a fire hazard.
- Do not place or use your air purifier in the following locations:
- Outdoors. For indoor use only.
- On soft surfaces such as a bed or sofa as this could cause the unit to tip over.
- Wet or damp locations, or excessively humid areas.
- High-temperature locations, or near heat sources.
- Places emitting oily smoke, such as kitchens.
- Where oil or flammable gas is used, and there may be leakage.
- Where combustible gases, vapors, metallic dust, aerosol (spray) products, or fumes from industrial oil are present.
- Where the air outlet faces animals or plants.
- Keep 5 ft / 1.5 m away from where oxygen is being administered.
- Close supervision is necessary when the appliance is used by, on, or near children or persons not authorized to use it.
- Do not sit or place anything on the air purifier.
- Do not use your air purifier if it is damaged or not working correctly, or if the cord or plug is damaged. Do not try to repair it yourself.
- If you find abnormal conditions such as unusual noise, smell, smoke, temperature rise, leakage, etc., please turn off the power switch immediately, and then contact Customer Support for assistance.
Power and Cord
- Locate the air purifier near an electrical outlet and avoid using an extension cord.
- Keep the cord out of heavy traffic areas and arrange cord so that it will not be tripped over.
- Never place the cord near any heat source.
- Do not cover the cord with a rug, carpet, or other covering. Do not place the cord under furniture or appliances.
- Do not damage, break, forcefully bend, pull, twist, bundle, coat, pinch, or place heavy objects on the power cord.
- Remove the power adapter from the outlet when not in use.
- The power adapter of this air purifier uses standard US 120V, 60Hz outlets.

Product Setup
Before using the air purifier, please remove the internal components and install the filter correctly according to the following instructions.
Note:
Make sure the air purifier is unplugged from the electrical outlet before
installing the filters.
- Turn over the purifier and remove the filter by rotating it counterclockwise until the two “ ” are aligned.
- The power adapter is stored in the middle of the filter element inside the air purifier. Please take out the filter, remove plastic covering, then take the adapter out before using. Put the filter back and rotate it clockwise until the arrow points to “ ” with a click.
- Place the air purifier on a firm, level floor. Make sure there is at least a 8-inch distance between the air inlets and walls or nearby furniture.
- Connect the power adapter to the power port at the bottom of the unit. Then connect the power adapter to a power outlet.
How to Use
Air Quality Light Ring:
The air quality indicator on the Control Panel will change color depending on
the air quality in the room, concerning the real time value of PM10, PM2.5,
PM1 and TVOC.
Button Functionality

Power Button
Tap to turn the air purifier On – Off. -
Timer Button
Tap repeatedly to set a 1-12 hour timer in one-hour intervals. -
Fan Speed Button
Tap to select a fan speed from 1 to 5, or sleep mode. In sleep mode, the unit runs at speed 1 and all lights are off. -
Display Switch Button
Tap repeatedly to change the currently displayed pollutant.
Note:
When the air purifier is switched on, it needs 20 seconds to show the PM value and 3 minutes to show the TVOC value. The displayed pollutant cycles through: PM10, PM2.5, PM1, TVOC. -
Filter Button
Tap to check the remaining life percentage of the filter on the screen. Press and hold for 5s to reset the filter lifetime counter. -
Light Button
Tap to select a brightness for all the lights on the control panel. It cycles through:- Normal – Dim – Off.

Auto Button
- Tap to turn Auto Mode On – Off.
- Tap Speed button to exit Auto Mode.
Note:
Auto mode uses sensors inside the air purifier to adjust the fan speed automatically based on the ambient air quality.

Wi-Fi Button
Press and hold to configure the network connection. -
UV-C Button
Tap to turn the UV function On – Off.
Memory Function
When the air purifier is plugged in, it will remember its programmed settings
when turned off, and will resume these settings when turned back on.
Automatic Shutoff
As a safety feature, the UV function will automatically turn off if the filter
is not in the right position.
App Connectivity
Steps:
- Download “Broan-NuTone Air Purifier” from your App store or scan QR code to the right.
- Press and hold the Wi-Fi button for 5 seconds until Wi-Fi icon blinks to enter into pairing mode.
- Follow the instructions on your phone to finish the configuration.
Additional App Features
- Child lock function could be activated on your App. Power button on control panel still works even if the unit is in the state of locking.
- The air purifier could be operated muted by touching the “Mute” button on App.
Care & Maintenance
- Always unplug before cleaning or maintaining the unit.
- Do not immerse unit in water or any other liquid.
- Do not use abrasive, corrosive or flammable products to clean any parts of the unit.
- The filters CANNOT be washed.
Clean the Air Purifier
Regularly clean the inside and outside of the air purifier to prevent dust
from collecting.
- Use a soft, dry cloth to clean both the interior and exterior of the air purifier.
- Use a soft brush or cloth to clean the inlet and outlet of the air purifier.
Filter Change Reminder
When “ ” flashes, it is time to change your filter. The air purifier will
comprehensively consider various parameters to calculate the remaining life of
your filter. Under normal usage condition, the filter lifetime is around 6
months. Watch out for the signs of an expired filter, even if indicator does
not flash:
- Increased noise when the air purifier is on
- Decreased airflow
- Unusual odors
- Visibly clogged filter
Replacing the Filter
- Please make sure the air purifier is unplugged from the electrical outlet before installing the filters.
- Unwrap the new filter from its plastic packaging.
- Follow the steps in the Product Setup section.
- Press and hold “ ” for 5 seconds to reset the filter.
