LS-CM Ceiling Mount Light Stand

The Impact telescoping ceiling mount allows you to suspend a monolight, LED, or studio flash with a 5/8-inch receiver or stud from a ceiling or other flat surface. It features four anchor points on the plate to ensure a solid and secure connection with nails, drywall anchors, or molly or toggle bolts. It is ideal for mounting light fixtures that weigh up to 22 pounds while preserving floor space in small work areas or studios.

Precautions

  • Use the safety cable eyelet for extra security when mounting a light fixture.
  • Make sure at least two screws are attached to the ceiling joist when screwing the plate directly into a ceiling joist.

Overview

  1. Safety cable eyelet
  2. Mounting plate
  3. Locking knob

Setup

Attaching the Ceiling Mount to the Ceiling

  1. Use the mounting plate to mark the position of the mounting holes on the ceiling.

  2. Drill appropriate-sized holes for the plastic drywall anchors,
metal concrete anchors, molly bolts, or toggle bolts in the marked locations. If you’re using drywall anchors, tap them into the holes. Note: Many drywall anchors and molly bolts are self-tapping and don’t require a drill for installation.

  3. Put the plate against the ceiling and insert screws (for drywall anchors), molly bolts, or toggle bolts through the holes, and fasten them until they’re fully tightened, and the plate is secure.

Mounting a Light and Accessories

The two-way receiver lets you mount a light horizontally or vertically. The reversible spigot features a 3/8-16 thread on one end and a 1/4-20 thread on the other. Use these threads to mount a ballhead, LED light, microphone, or light-shaping accessory. For extra security, use the eyelet on the mounting plate to secure your light fixture with a safety cable.
