Product Information

The M294 Sugar Drive Pedal is a rare and mythical overdrive pedal that offers a diverse range of clear and transparent tones.
It can be used to provide sauced up boosting or rich overdrive, making it a versatile addition to your guitar setup. The pedal has external controls that include a volume knob, tone knob, drive knob, buffer switch, and footswitch. These controls allow you to adjust the overall effect volume, roll off high frequencies, set the amount of overdrive, select buffered bypass, and toggle the effect on or off.

Product Usage Instructions

  1. Connect your guitar to the M294’s INPUT jack using a cable.
  2. Connect another cable from the M294’s OUTPUT jack to your amplifier.
  3. Start with all controls at 12 o’clock.
  4. Depress the FOOTSWITCH to turn on the effect.
  5. Rotate the VOLUME knob clockwise to increase the overall effect volume or counterclockwise to decrease it.
  6. Rotate the TONE knob clockwise for a brighter sound or counterclockwise for a warmer sound.
  7. Rotate the DRIVE knob clockwise to increase the amount of overdrive or counterclockwise to decrease it.
  8. By default, the M294 is set to true bypass switching. If you want to use buffered bypass switching, set the BUFFER switch to its RIGHT position.

Note that the pedal has an input impedance of 600 k, an output impedance of 3 k, and a nominal input level of +6 dBV. The maximum output level is +26 dBV, and the current draw is 18.5 mA at 9 VDC.
The pedal requires a 9 VDC (ECB003 AC adapter) power source and has a throughput gain of up to +50 dB at 1 kHz.

  1. VOLUME knob sets overall effect volume
  2. TONE knob rolls off high frequencies
  3. DRIVE knob sets the amount of overdrive
  4. BUFFER switch selects buffered bypass (indicated by blue LED)
  5. FOOTSWITCH toggles effect on/bypass (blue LED indicates on)

Basic Operation

Power
The Sugar Drive™ Pedal is powered by the Dunlop ECB003 9-volt adapter or an MXR® Brick™ Series power supply (each sold separately). This pedal cannot be powered by a battery.

Operation

  1. Run a cable from your guitar to the M294’s INPUT jack  and run another cable from the M294’s OUTPUT jack to your amplifier.
  2. Start with all controls at 12 o’clock.
  3. Turn the effect on by depressing the FOOTSWITCH.
  4. Rotate the VOLUME knob clockwise to increase the overall effect volume or counterclockwise to decrease it.
  5. Rotate the TONE knob clockwise for a brighter sound or counterclockwise for a warmer sound.
  6. Rotate the DRIVE knob clockwise to increase amount of overdrive or counterclockwise to decrease it.
  7. By default, The M294 is set to true bypass switching. For buffered bypass switching, set the BUFFER switch to its RIGHT position.
