Operation
Split TRS Signal to Mono L/R Paths
To split a stereo signal into left/right paths, connect the TRS output of your
stereo device to the MXR Split + Tap’s TRS input jack using a TRS cable. Next,
run two standard instrument cables from the MXR Split + Tap’s LEFT and RIGHT
output jacks to the inputs of your mono devices.
Combine L/R Signals into TRS Path
To combine left and right signal paths into a single TRS path, connect the
outputs of your mono devices to the MXR Split + Tap’s LEFT and RIGHT jacks
using standard instrument cables. Next, connect a TRS cable from the MXR Split
- Tap’s TRS jack to your stereo device’s TRS input jack.
Control the Tempo of Time-Based Effects
To use the MXR Split + Tap’s footswitch to control the tempo of a time-based
effect unit, connect a standard instrument cable or TRS cable from the MXR
Split + Tap’s TAP jack to the relevant jack on your effect unit.
Toggle Effect Parameters
To use the MXR Split + Tap’s footswitch to toggle the parameters of an effects
unit, connect a standard instrument cable from the TAP jack to the relevant
jack on your effect unit.
Tip/Ring Grounding Configuration for Tap Jack
The MXR Split + Tap is factory-set to work with the MXR Joshua Ambient Echo.
Check your pedal’s user manual to see its tip/ring cable requirements. To
adjust the MXR Split + Tap’s tip/ring setup, remove bottom plate to access
internal switches. See diagram for switch configurations.

Ground).
