CONTROLS

[1] TONE knob controls the color of the distortion signal
[2] OUTPUT knob controls overall effect volume
[3] DISTORTION knob controls the amount of distortion
[4] FOOTSWITCH toggles effect on/ bypass (white LED indicates on)

POWER

The MXR Prime Distortion is powered by one 9 volt battery (remove bottom plate to install), a 9 volt AC Adapter such as the Dunlop ECB003/ECB003EU or a power supply such as the DC Brick™.

DIRECTIONS
  • Run a cable from your guitar to the Prime Distortion’s INPUT jack and run another cable from the Prime Distortion’s OUTPUT jack to your amplifier.
  • Start with all controls at 12 o’clock.
  • Turn the effect on by depressing the footswitch.
  • Rotate the OUTPUT control clockwise to increase the overall volume of the effect or counterclockwise to decrease it.
  • Rotate the TONE control clockwise for a brighter sound or counterclockwise for a darker sound.
  • Rotate the DISTORTION control clockwise to increase the amount of distortion or counterclockwise to decrease it.
