Probe usage & Calibration tips
Accessories: rinse container, calibration container, calibration
standard, DI water
Prior to placing the probe into a standard:
- Remove the transparent protective ring (1).
- Rinse in DI water and gently shake off excess water.
- Immerse the probe in rinse container ensuring that probe’s holes (3) are completely submerged. Swirl and remove.
- Immerse and swirl the probe several times to prime the probe.
Calibration tips
- Ensure the probe is correctly plugged in.
- Use fresh standards with a value close to that of the sample.
- Pour fresh standard in calibration container, immerse the probe, gently swirl, and remove.
- Immerse and swirl the probe several times.
- Gently tap the probe to remove trapped air bubbles.
- Wait for the temperature to stabilize and the probe to acclimate to the solution.
- Calibrate frequently and discard standard after use.
Conductivity measurement tips
- Work with recently calibrated probes.
- Substitute calibration standard with measured sample and follow calibration recommendations.
- Use the arm holder for easy probe transfer in and out of container and correct probe positioning, away from container walls or bottom.
- TDS measurement: use correct TDS conversion factor for measured sample.
