DJI DL/DL-S Professional Prime Lenses
Introduction
DJI™ DL/DL-S Lenses are professional prime lenses specially designed for photography. With the DJI DL mount (diameter: 58 mm), the lenses can be mounted onto the ZENMUSE™ gimbal camera to provide varying focal lengths.* The lenses feature an integrated carbon fiber casing, which can effectively reduce the payload of the gimbal and camera, improving the stability when shooting.
The new DJI DL 18mm F2.8 full-frame ultra-wide lens is made especially for 8K aerial photography, supporting 100° FOV to capture better scenes. The 18/24/35/50 mm lenses form the full-frame lens group from wide-angle to tell.
The DJI DL-S 16mm F2.8 ND ASPH lens has a built-in ND4 filter and can record Super 35mm video. When used with Zenmuse X7, the focal length crop factor is 1.5.
The DJI DL/DL-S Lenses can support Zenmuse X7, X9, X9-8K Air (DJI DL 18mm F2.8 ASPH Lens is not compatible with Zenmuse X7 gimbal camera). The lens will support more DJI gimbal cameras in the future. Visit the official website for the latest information.

- Toggle the lens locking lever to cover the orange line on the camera ⑤ until the lever is secure.
-
The installing steps may differ when mounting the lens to different X9 gimbal cameras. Read the corresponding product model user manual for installation details.
- Make sure to mount the camera lens with the lens mount facing downward to prevent dust from entering the sensor. Otherwise, the performance may be affected.
- DO NOT press the lens release button while mounting the camera lens.
Using the Lens
Filters
DJI offers the DL/DL-S lens protector and filters*, which are available on the
DJI online store. The specifications of the DL/DL-S lens protector and filters
are shown below.
Filter/Protector | Diameter | Weight |
---|---|---|
DJI DL/DL-S ND4 Filter | 46 mm | Approx. 9 g |
DJI DL/DL-S ND8 Filter | 46 mm | Approx. 9 g |
DJI DL/DL-S ND16 Filter | 46 mm | Approx. 9 g |
DJI DL/DL-S ND32 Filter | 46 mm | Approx. 9 g |
DJI DL/DL-S ND64 Filter | 46 mm | Approx. 9 g |
DJI DL/DL-S ND128 Filter | 46 mm | Approx. 9 g |
DJI DL/DL-S Lens Protector | 46 mm | Approx. 9 g |
- DJI DL 18mm F2.8 ASPH Lens only supports filters with a diameter of 55 mm. Purchase third-party filters separately.
For optimal performance when shooting, the following combinations are recommended when mounting the lens onto the gimbal camera:
-
Lens hood + lens protector
-
Lens hood + balancing ring
-
Lens hood + ND filter
-
Two ND filters
The total weight of each combination mentioned above should be between 10 to 35 g. It is recommended to keep the total weight of the attached components around 20 g when the gimbal is balancing to ensure optimal video recording performance- The gimbal performance is affected by the weight of the camera. Refer to the requirements above to mount the lens protector, filter, and lens hood when using the DL/DL-S lens
- Third-party filters are supported for both DL/DL-S lenses. Make sure to use a filter with a thickness of 4.4 mm and a total weight of 35 g (including the hood).
- The lens protector is only used to protect the lens during transportation, storage, and use. It is recommended to use the protector in severe shooting environments to prolong the service life of the lens. Be aware that there might be lens glare in some situations when the protector is in use.
Mounting Filters/Protector
- Rotate the lens hood to remove it.
- Rotate the balancing ring to remove it.
- Mount the new filter (or the protector) and the lens hood.
- When mounting the lens hood, first align the red dots on the lens hood and the lens and rotate to tighten. * If two filters are to be mounted to the lens, attach the filters to the lens and DO NOT mount the lens hood.

MTF
An MTF (Modulation Transfer Function) chart is used to measure the ability
of a lens to reproduce contrast and resolve details. Low spatial frequencies
reflect overall contrast and high spatial frequencies reflect detail
resolution. Image Height indicates the distance of a given point on the lens
from the center of the sensor. MTF 100% indicates perfect performance.
