CRF110F Aluminum Skid Plate
- Remove the black plastic cover on the left side of the motor.
- Notice on the right side of the engine cylinder there is a small hole which is straight opposite of the bolt in the left side that held the plastic cover you removed. The supplied bracket has a pin on one side, insert the pin in that hole and swing the bracket up so the hole on the other side is lined with the threaded hole and attach it with the supplied 6mm X 16 bolt. Do not tighten this bolt yet,
- Take the supplied 6mm X 120 bolt and put it through the holes on the bracket just below the cylinder and use the supplied 6mm Nylock nut. Do not tighten this bolt yet.
- Remove the 2 forward facing bolts on the footpad bar under the motor.
- Attach the rear of the skid plate using the supplied 8mm X 40 bolts with washers and the 2 supplied spacers. The tapered end of the spacers goes toward the motor. Leave these a little loose. The drive on these butterhead bolts is a T-40 Torx, it is recommended to use a good socket drive bit
- Swing the skid plate up and attach it to the bracket with the supplied 8mm X 25 buttoned bolts. The inserts on that bracket have a locking feature and it is recommended to use some lubrication on those threads like a drop of oil or our favorite, anti-seize compound.
- Now tighten the 4 buttoned bolts
- Tighten the bolt on the bracket attaching it to the motor.
- Lastly, tighten the long 6mm bolt in the bracket. Just bring the nut up against the bracket being careful not to go too far and distort the bracket.
