Xtracycle KickBack 3 Cargo Bikes
Product Information
The Kickback 3 is a bike accessory that provides a stable kickstand for Xtracycle bikes. It comes with hardware including M8 washers, M8 X 25 mm bolts, M6 washers, Xtracycle U-bolts, M6 nyloc bolts, M5 bolts, flat plate and KickBack 3 boom strap. The product is designed to fit 2021 model year Xtracycles and requires tools such as a 3 mm Allen wrench, 10 mm socket wrench and a pipe cutter or hack saw (if the legs need to be shortened).
Product Usage
- Installing the Kickback 3
- With the bike secured in a bike stand, hold the KickBack 3 in place underneath the bike boom tube.
* If your Xtracycle has a threaded boss on the underside of the boom tube, just ahead of the front bridge: Start to thread one M5 bolt up from the bottom of the KickBack mounting plate. Thread it far enough to keep the KickBack attached to the frame. Do not fully tighten.
* If your boom tube does not have this threaded boss: Fasten the included BoomStrap over the boom tube with two M5 bolts. Do not fully tighten.
2. On 2021 model year Xtracycles, there are some additional support brackets intended to help with installation. If your Xtracycle has these support, the KickBack 3 mounting plate needs to be slid into these brackets and then the mounting plate bracket bolt can be threaded into the boss on the underside of the boomtube.
3. With the KickBack legs folded up, place both Xtracycle U-bolts over the Xtracycle’s front bridge and through the KickBack mounting plate. For the two right side bolts and rear left side bolt, thread on a washer and a nut. The thread of the front, left U-bolts pass through a rectangular cutout. Place the rectangular washer over this leg, then lightly thread on a washer and nut.
4. Moving the legs as necessary to allow for access to the bolts, lightly snug all four nuts with a 10mm socket wrench. Alternating between nuts can keep the KickBack from pulling to one side or the other.
5. Put the legs into the down position and pull them towards the front of the bike to ensure that the KickBack is rotated as far forward as possible and centered on the boom tube.
6. Using your 3 mm Allen wrench, tighten the bolts on the BoomStrap or the single bolt below to 3Nm.
7. Using the 10 mm socket wrench, fully tighten all four U-bolt nuts. The installation of the KickBack is now complete.
