General Safety

WARNING! This device is not intended for use by children or by unassisted, unsupervised persons whose physical, sensory or mental capabilities prevent them from using it safely. Children should be supervised to ensure that they do not play with the device.

WARNING! When using the device, basic safety precautions should always be followed. Failure to follow all instructions listed below may result in electric shock, fire and/or serious injury.

  • Work area – Work in a clean, well lit and well ventilated environment.
  • Usage – Do not use this device for any use case except for which it was intended.
  • Slippery surfaces – Exercise caution to avoid slipping or falling. Wear protective footwear that will protect your feet and improve your footing on slippery surfaces.
  • Cold   liquids only – Never use with hot liquids as it will significantly reduce the life of the pump.
  • Never use strong agents or solutions – Only use water, detergent, fertilizers or pesticides free of particulates with this sprayer. Do not use acids, bases, solvents, or any flammable substances in this device. These substances can cause physical injuries to the operator and irreversible damage to the machine.
  • Store indoors – Never store the device outdoors or where it could freeze. The sprayer could be seriously damaged.
  • Never operate empty – Do not operate this sprayer empty. Running the pump dry may cause damage to the device.
  • Testing – Prior to first use, test the sprayer with water only to check for leaks and spray performance.
  • Explosion hazard – Do not operate the device in explosive atmospheres, such as in the presence of flammable liquids, gases or dust.
  • Clean with water – Do not use acids, alkaline solutions, bleaches or solvents such as acetone to clean your sprayer.

Electrical and Battery Safety

CAUTION! Recharge only with the charging cable specified by the manufacturer.

  • Do not abuse the cable – Never carry the device by the cable or yank the cable to disconnect it from the device. Keep the cable away from heat, oil, and sharp edges.
  • Charge prior to first use – Although the battery is charged from the factory, some of this charge will be depleted in transport or storage. It is recommended to charge this device prior to first use.
  • Allow device to cool – Allow the battery to cool for several minutes before recharging the sprayer, and do not use if the device becomes too hot.

ATTENTION: This device contains non replicable batteries. Do not attempt to replace the internal battery.

WARNING! Do not use the device if damaged or modified. A damaged or modified device may exhibit unpredictable behavior resulting in fire, explosion or risk of injury.

WARNING! Do not expose the device to fire or excessive temperatures. Exposure to fire or temperatures above 265°F (130°C) may cause an explosion.

NOTE: Follow all charging instructions and do not use or charge the device outside the temperature range of 32°F – 104ºF (0°C – 40°C). Charging improperly or at temperatures outside the specified range may damage the battery and increase the risk of fire.

Maintenance Safety

  • Turn off – Turn off the sprayer before performing any maintenance, cleaning or repair.
  • Unusual behavior – Turn off the device if it exhibits any unusual behavior such as vibrations, pressure fluctuations or noise.
  • Filter – If the sprayer is clogged, open the bottle and check the filter for dirt. Clean the filter if necessary.

To preserve battery life, the device will power off automatically after 5 mins of non-operation. Restart if necessary by holding the trigger for 2s.

  1. Carefully remove the cordless handheld sprayer and check to see that all of the above items are supplied.
  2. Inspect the product carefully to make sure no breakage or damage occurred during shipping. If you find damaged or missing parts, DO NOT return the unit to the store. Please call the Snow Joe® + Sun Joe® customer service center at 1-866-SNOWJOE (1-866-766-9563).

NOTE: Do not discard the shipping carton and packaging material until you are ready to use your new cordless handheld sprayer. The packaging is made of recyclable materials. Properly dispose of these materials in accordance with local regulations.

IMPORTANT! The equipment and packaging material are not toys. Do not let children play with plastic bags, foils, or small parts. These items can be swallowed and pose a suffocation risk!

WARNING! To reduce the risk of injury, the user must read and understand this operator’s manual before using this product. Failure to follow all warnings and precautions may result in personal injury, or property damage.

Charging

Using the included charging cable, plug the smaller micro USB connector into the  corresponding micro USB port of the sprayer. Then plug the other end of the cable (USB-A) into a USB adapter (not included) for charging at an electrical outlet (Fig. 1).

The battery indicator LEDs will illuminate to indicate charging progress. All four LEDs will light up once the battery is fully charged, at which point unplug the sprayer from the charging cable.

NOTE: You may also use other USB ports such as those on computers, wall outlets and power banks to charge your sprayer.

  1. Twist the sprayer counter-clockwise to unscrew it from the bottle (Fig. 2).

  2. Fill the bottle up to the 1L mark (Fig. 3).
    NOTE: Be sure to first test the sprayer with water only before filing the bottle with detergent.

  3. Reinsert the sprayer over the bottle and twist clockwise to tighten (Fig. 4).

Operation

Intended Use

The SJ-APS-022 cordless handheld sprayer is designed to clean various surfaces using water or liquid detergent. It can also be used to water plants and herbs with water, liquid fertilizers and pesticides.

DANGER! Before using any detergent, pesticides, liquid fertilizers or other substances in this sprayer, read the label on its original container thoroughly and follow its directions. Some substances are dangerous and should not be used in this sprayer, as they can damage the sprayer and cause serious bodily injury or property damage.

This product is intended for domestic use only. It is not intended for commercial use. It must not be used for any purposes other than those described.

  1. Long press the trigger for two seconds until the battery indicator LEDs light up (Fig. 5).

  2. Short press the trigger to start or stop spraying.

  3. Twist the nozzle clockwise for a wider stream and counter-clockwise for a more narrow stream (Fig. 6).

  4. To turn off the sprayer, long press the trigger for 2 seconds.

Cleaning + Maintenance

  1. After use, drain the bottle and rinse out any remaining detergent.
  2. Refill the bottle with water and spray until the sprayer is clear of any remaining detergent residue.
  3. Lightly rinse the outside of the sprayer before storing in a cool, dry place.

Unfortunately, there are times when a Snow Joe®, Sun Joe®, or Aqua Joe® product (“Product”) does not work or breaks under normal operating conditions. We think it’s important that you know what you can expect from us. That’s why we have a Limited Warranty (“Warranty”) for our Products.

OUR WARRANTY:

Snow Joe warrants new, genuine, powered and non-powered Products to be free from defects in material or workmanship when used for ordinary household use for a period of two years from the date of purchase by the original, end-user purchaser when purchased from Snow Joe or from one of Snow Joe’s authorized sellers with proof of purchase. Because Snow Joe is unable to control the quality of its Products sold by unauthorized sellers, unless otherwise prohibited by law, this Warranty does not cover Products purchased from unauthorized sellers. If your Product does not work or there’s an issue with a specific part that is covered by the terms of this Warranty, Snow Joe will elect to either (1) send you a free replacement part, (2) replace the Product with a new or comparable product at no charge, or (3) repair the Product. How cool is that!

This Warranty gives you specific legal rights, and you may also have other rights which vary from State to State.

Snow Joe strongly encourages you to register your Product. You can register online at snowjoe.com/register, or by printing and mailing in a registration card available online from our website, or calling our Customer Service Department at 1-866-SNOWJOE (1-866-766-9563), or by e-mailing us at help@snowjoe.com. Failure to register your Product will not diminish your warranty rights. However, registering your Product will allow Snow Joe to better serve you with any of your customer service needs.

WHO CAN SEEK LIMITED WARRANTY COVERAGE:

This Warranty is extended by Snow Joe to the original purchaser and original owner of the Product.

WHAT IS NOT COVERED?

This Warranty does not apply if the Product has been used commercially or for non-household or rental applications. This Warranty also does not apply if the Product was purchased from an unauthorized seller. This Warranty also does not cover cosmetic changes that do not affect performance. Wearing parts like belts, augers, chains and tines are not covered under this Warranty, and can be purchased at snowjoe.com or by calling 1-866-SNOWJOE (1-866-766-9563).
