Trailer Coupler User Guide

This product is a trailer coupler with a torsion hitch. It is designed to provide a smooth towing experience by reducing shock and vibration from the road. The product has a patent protection with Patent # US9505281B1, USD773345S1, USD9868327B1.

Product Information

  • Use 5/8 x 1 1/2 grade 8 bolts & nuts x 2 per side for stabilizer bolts and thru bolts.
  • The mounting bolts must be torqued to 120 Ft. lbs. for proper installation and performance of the product.
  • The product comes with a tongue weight scale that measures the weight of the trailer tongue. The maximum and minimum tongue weight limits are specified by the manufacturer.
  • The product has an average break-in period of 500 miles.
  • GEN-Y Hitch shall NOT be held responsible for any or all compatible parts or products being used for towing with or around  GEN-Y Hitch. GEN-Y Hitch products shall never be altered in anycircumstances and will void any or all warranties if done so.

Product Usage Instructions

  1. Ensure that the product is compatible with your vehicle and trailer. Refer to the manufacturer’s instructions for compatibility information.
  2. Attach the product to your vehicle using the recommended stabilizer bolts and thru bolts. Ensure that the mounting bolts are torqued to 120 Ft. lbs. using a torque wrench.
  3. Attach the product to your trailer tongue using the coupler. Use the tongue weight scale to measure the weight of the trailer tongue and ensure that it falls within the specified limits.
  4. Test the product by towing your trailer for the recommended break-in period of 500 miles. During this period, monitor the product for any signs of wear or damage.
  5. Do not alter the product in any way, as doing so will void the manufacturer’s warranty.
