Product Information
The Fifth Wheel to Gooseneck Coupler Auto-Latch is a patented product (#
US9505281B1, USD773345S1, USD9868327B1) that allows users to convert their
fifth wheel trailer to a gooseneck hitch.
The torsion hitch is designed to reduce trailer sway and improve stability
during towing. The product has a maximum pin weight of 16.911 and an average
break-in period of 1,000 miles. The product be installed with a minimum of 4
mounting bolts per side, 5/8 x 1 1/2 grade 8 bolts and nuts. Safety chains
(sold separately – GH-70684) are recommended with this product.
Product Usage Instructions
- Before installation, ensure that you have the recommended mounting bolts and nuts.
- Torque the mounting bolts to 160 ft. lbs.
- Remove the pin box from your fifth wheel trailer.
- Install the Fifth Wheel to Gooseneck Coupler Auto-Latch using the same amount of bolts you removed to replace the pin box.
- Ensure that the product is securely attached with a minimum of 4 mounting bolts per side.
- If desired, attach safety chains to the product using GH-70684 (sold separately).
- Test the product before use to ensure that it is properly installed and functioning.
Important: Do not alter the product in any way, as doing so will void any warranties. Additionally, GEN-Y Hitch shall not be held responsible for any damage caused by using incompatible parts or products during towing.
