Congratulations and thank you for purchasing this Schwaiger product. This user guide is designed to help you use and operate the device.
Read through the instructions for use carefully. Store this manual safely throughout the product‘s entire service life and pass it on to any subsequent users or owners.
Check that the supplied package is complete and ensure that none of the parts are defective or damaged.

Intended use

This Bluetooth® stereo speaker is designed for wireless playback of audio files. The loudspeakers can be connected either via Bluetooth® or a 3.5 mm jack cable to smartphones, tablets, computers or other playback devices and operated individually or together.

General safety and maintenance instructions

WARNING

• This product is intended for private, non-commercial household use.
• This product is an electronic product that must be kept away from children. Therefore, keep it out of reach of children.
• Do not drop the product or expose it to strong shocks.
• Do not introduce any objects into the product’s connections or openings.
• Do not disassemble the product into its individual parts. The unit does not contain any user serviceable parts. Incorrect assembly can cause electric shocks or malfunctions.
• Clean this product only using a lint-free, damp cloth that is as light as possible and do not use any aggressive cleaning agents. In doing this, especially ensure that no water (no fluid or moisture) gets into the product.
• Never expose the loudspeaker to high temperatures or extreme cold.
• Keep the speaker away from open fire.
• IMPORTANT: This product is not suitable for outdoor use! For indoor use only! Do not use near water!
• Never touch the power cord and plug with wet hands as there is a risk of electric shock.
• To ensure adequate ventilation, do not cover the speaker and ensure that there are no objects in the immediate vicinity (approx. 50 mm) of the speaker.

CAUTION: Listening at excessively high volume can cause hearing damage!

Always keep the volume at a reasonable level. High volume, even for a short time, can cause damage to hearing.

Important safety instructions on the integrated battery

When used properly, rechargeable lithium iron and lithium polymer batteries provide a safe and reliable source of power for mobile devices. Incorrect use may cause the battery to discharge, catch fire, explode, or fragment, potentially injuring you or damaging your device.

• The battery is permanently installed in the casing. It cannot be replaced.
• Never throw the product into a fire as they may explode or cause a flame hazard
• Recharge the device battery on a regular basis, even if you do not use it for a longer period of time (about every 3 months). Otherwise, it may become deep discharged and permanently unusable.
• The batteries do not need to be discharged before being recharged.
• Place the product on a surface which is not sensitive to heat when recharging. It is normal for the product to become slightly warm when recharging.
• Dead or damaged batteries may cause skin irritation, so use suitable gloves.
• Leaking battery fluids are highly corrosive, and may seriously damage objects or surfaces they come into contact with.

Note:
Please make sure that you have familiarized yourself with the Bluetooth® settings of your devices to be paired in order to exclude possible sources of error during the connection.

First commissioning

NOTE
It is recommended to fully charge the integrated battery before using the product for the first time.

Process:

• Connect the Micro USB Charging cable to the corresponding charging socket of the loudspeaker. Connect the USB charger cable to a USB charger adapter or a USB charger socket to the power supply.
• The LED indicator on the speaker lights red and the speaker will charge.
• Once the speaker is fully charged, the LED indicator will stop lighting.
• If you turn on the speaker during charging, the red LED indicator will turn off.

Modes and functions

Status LED

Power ON/OFF

• To turn on the speaker, set the POWER ON/OFF switch on the rear panel to the “ON” position; the LED indicator lights up.
• To turn off the speaker, set the POWER ON/OFF switch on the rear panel to the “OFF” position; the LED indicator goes out.

Pairing mode (Bluetooth® Coupling)

• Turn on the speaker as described above.
• Search and select “RBS224” in the Bluetooth® settings of your mobile device.
• The LED indicator will turn blue permanently when the speaker is connected to your device. You will hear the sound “Device paired”.
• If your Bluetooth® device requests a PIN, enter “0000”.

NOTE:

• The loudspeaker should be no further than within a radius of 10 m around your device.
• When the speaker is turned on, it automatically connects to the last connected device, if available. In case not, the speaker switches to Pairing mode.

TWS Function

The speaker includes the True Wireless Stereo (TWS) function, which allows it to be connected to another speaker via Bluetooth® for true stereo sound. To activate, follow the steps below:

• Turn on both speakers.
• Connect the first RBS224 Bluetooth® speaker to your Bluetooth® device.
• Press and hold the mode button of the first RBS224 Bluetooth® speaker for 3 seconds until the sound “TWS Pairing” sounds and the LED status indicator flashes rapidly blue.
• If the connection is successful, you will hear the acknowledgementsound “TWS Connected” and the LED status indicator will turn blue permanently.

To disconnect the TWS, press and hold the Mode button again for 3 seconds until you hear the sound “TWS Disconnected”.

Connection via AUX input

• Turn on the speaker as described above.
• Use the supplied 3.5 mm jack cable to connect your external device to the AUX-IN connector of the speaker.
• Press the mode button once to enter AUX-IN mode.
• If you want to exit AUX mode, press the mode button 1x again to return to Bluetooth® mode.

Troubleshooting

Loudspeaker cannot be switched on

Charge the speaker and make sure it has enough power.

Speaker does not connect to my device

Please check the following:

• The speakers are within 10 m or less of your device.
• The speaker is in Pairing Mode (LED indicator flashes blue).

No sound

• Make sure that the volume on both the speaker and your device is set to an audible level.
• Make sure that your device is successfully connected to the speaker. The Status LED light is permanently blue

Poor sound quality

Reduce the distance between the speaker and your device and remove any obstructions in between.

Cleaning and maintenance

This product is maintenance free, and the lamp is not replaceable. You must disconnect the device from the mains socket before cleaning.Ensure that no liquids get into the product while you are cleaning it. The use of solvent- containing or aggressive cleaning agents as well as alcohol or thinners is prohibited as it could damage the coating or the surface of the product. You should therefore clean the product with a lint-free, ever so slightly damp soft cloth only.

Disposal

The product is delivered in packaging made of recyclable materials to protect against damage during transport. Sort and dispose of these materials in the designated containers. Ask your local disposal company or local council about how to dispose of the product in an environmentally correct way.

Do not dispose of batteries or electric and electronic devices in the normal household waste. The consumer is legally obliged to return electrical and electronic devices, and batteries that are at the end of their useful life to the point of sale or public collection points that have been set up for this purpose. Legislation in the country of use stipulate the specific requirements regarding disposal. The symbol on the product, the user guide or the packaging indicates this legal requirement.
