FAQs

Troubleshooting:

I am seeing fluctuation in the measurements. Why is this happening?

Every time the scale is moved it may need to be initialized and auto- calibrated. Initializing the scale resets the internal parts allowing the scale to find the correct “zero” weight and ensure accurate readings. To initialize the scale:

  1. Place the scale on a hard, flat surface.
  2. Turn on the scale by tapping it with your foot until “0.0” is displayed.
  3. Your scale is now calibrated.
The scale displays “Err”

Possible cause: There is a calibration error.

Solution: Place scale on a hard, flat surface. Wait for the scale to turn off and then restart it.

The scale displays “O-Ld”

The weight capacity is exceeded.

The scale displays “E”

Possible cause: Movement while measurement is in process.

Solution: Place feet on the center of the glass platform and stand still. Make sure the scale is placed on a hard, flat surface.

The scale displays “EE”

Possible cause: The data communication between the mobile device and scale has failed.

Solution: Reconnect the Bluetooth and restart the scale.

The scale displays “Timeout” when uploading the history data

Possible cause: The Bluetooth connection may have been interrupted.

Solution: Upload again. If the upload fails, please reconnect the Bluetooth.

What if the iHealth Wireless Scale doesn’t turn on?

Check to make sure that all of the batteries are inserted and the polarities (+ and – ) are facing the correct way in the battery compartment. If you have access to an additional set of batteries, please replace the ones currently in the scale.

The scale displays “Lo”

Batteries low. Please replace all 4 batteries.

Setup and Usage:

Can I set up the app so multiple users can use the same iHealth Wireless

Scale?

Yes. You can set up multiple accounts in the iHealth MyVitals app. Then choose the desired user before each measurement.

Is it safe to use the Wireless Scale while pregnant?

Yes. We recommend against standing on the edge of the scale, or using it on a tilted or wet floor. Be sure that the surface of the scale is clean and dry before using. Note that the scale should also not be used by anyone who cannot stand still without assistance.

Can the iHealth Wireless Scale be used without a mobile device?

Yes. The scale can be used without an mobile device after the first connection is established. However it may be necessary to use your mobile device (launch the app) at least once every 200 weigh-ins, as new measurements overwrite older ones stored in the Scale. When the Wi-Fi connection is re-established measurement data will be uploaded to your mobile device.

Within what range does the mobile device have to be from the iHealth

Wireless Scale in order to function properly?

In a normal environment (without high electromagnetic interference), the mobile device can be used within 16.4 feet/5 meters of the scale.

How many measurements can iHealth Wireless Scale store?

The scale can store up to 200 measurements. When the scale’s memory is full, any new measurements will overwrite the oldest ones. The scale is an ideal tool for families, fitness clubs and sports teams.

Can the iHealth Wireless Scale be used on any surface?

In order to get the most accurate readings, we recommend placing the scale on a hard, flat surface. The scale may give inaccurate readings on soft surfaces such as carpet.

Can the display of measurement units be changed?

Yes. You may choose pounds (lb), kilograms (kg), or stones (st) by moving the switch located on the bottom of the scale under the battery cover. You may also select measurement units in the “Unit Setting” on the app.

What type of batteries is needed for the iHealth Wireless Scale?

The iHealth Wireless Scale requires four 1.5V AAA batteries which are included with purchase. Rechargeable batteries are not recommended for this product.

How should the iHealth Wireless Scale be kept clean?

You may use a soft (non abrasive) damp cloth to clean the glass plate of the scale. (Warning – use of an abrasive cloth can irreversibly damage the scale.)

Is the iHealth Wireless Scale waterproof?

The scale is not waterproof, but it should withstand normal wear. If it gets wet, wipe it with a dry towel. If it gets completely wet or dropped in water, take out the batteries immediately and dry completely.

Product Information:

Can children use the iHealth Wireless Scale?

The iHealth Wireless Scale is designed for adults. Infants or young children or any person who cannot stand still without assistance should not use it.

What does the iHealth Wireless Scale measure?

The iHealth Wireless Scale measures weight and BMI through the free iHealth MyVitals app that has personalized health tools to help you get the most out of your data and to better manage your health goal.

What is BMI?

BMI, or Body Mass Index, is a heuristic measurement of body weight based on a person’s weight and height. Body Mass Index is defined as the individual’s body weight divided by the square of his or her height when using the unit of measure kg/m².
