J-Tech Digital® Premium Quality HDMI 2.1CH/5.1CH Audio Extractor
Introduction
Thank you for purchasing this product. J-Tech Digital products offer cost effective AV solutions to any scenario, including security, home, commercial and live applications. The J-Tech Digital Premium Quality HDMI to HDMI + Audio Extractor is the perfect component for any home entertainment system. With this extractor, you can play content from a 1080p source device using HDMI. The audio signal is extracted to 2 outputs, digital optical SPDIF (Toslink®) and RCA audio output, for separate processing on an external amplifier or AV receiver. At the same time, all three signals of the HDMI input — video, audio, and data — get output through the HDMI output. The HDMI input and output support resolutions up to 1080p @ 60Hz and computer resolutions up to 1920 x 1080.

FAQs
Can I use the HDMI input?****
Yes, you can use the HDMI input for this product.
Can I use the DVI input?****
No, you cannot use the DVI input for this product.
Can I use the RCA output?****
Yes, you can use the RCA output for this product.
Can I connect a PC to the HDMI output and play content on a monitor or TV?****
Yes, you can connect a PC to the HDMI output and play content on a monitor or TV. For best results, please set your PC’s video card to output at 1080p @ 60Hz.
How Do You Convert HDMI Audio to RCA?****
If you want to convert HDMI audio to stereo RCA, buy an HDMI audio converter/extractor with a stereo analog output. If you need 5.1 digital audio via RCA, your audio extractor will need a coaxial SPDIF output.
Does an HDMI Audio Extractor Degrade Sound Quality?****
An HDMI audio splitter shouldn’t degrade sound quality because it generally passes a digital audio signal between your devices, and the output remains unchanged. If your extractor converts the HDMI audio to stereo analog, there will be a digital-to-analog conversion process which could, in theory, affect the sound quality. However, if you buy a reputable model, you are unlikely to hear any difference in sound.
What was the purpose of the audio extractor?****
The audio extractor sends sound to a separate audio device (such as speakers or a soundbar) without impacting your HDMI video quality. This lets you play audio through a different playback device than your video and is useful when your video playback device cannot play audio.
Why is the audio extractor not working?****
Check to see if the mains power adaptor is connected properly and switched on. Reconnect the HDMI cables on both the HDMI input and output de- pending on which mode you’re in. No Audio If you’re using the 3.5mm audio output; it can only support 2.1 channel sound so if your device is 5.1 then it may not work.
Do I need an audio extractor?****
An HDMI audio extractor must isolate the audio signal from an HDMI signal, then decrypt and recode it into another type of audio signal (usually analog). In all but the rarest circumstances, an HDMI audio extractor is necessary if you intend to convert HDMI to analog audio or any other format.
Do HDMI Audio Extractors Cause Lag?****
Generally, HDMI audio splitters won’t cause lag in the audio signal, and a well-made model should pass through the sound with little effect on the video and audio timing.
What is the difference between ARC and an audio extractor?****
When you have a source device such as a Blu-ray player or sky box and want to send the audio from these devices to your sound bar, headphones, or AV system, we would recommend an Audio Extractor. Rather than taking the sound from your TV’s ARC HDMI port, it will take the audio from any HDMI source.
Are audio extractors safe?****
AOA Audio Extractor is absolutely safe and secure for use with your computer.
How do I set up an audio extractor?****
Connect the display to the HDMI output of the extractor. Connect the 5V power adapter to the extractor. The “Power” LED will illuminate indicating that the extractor is receiving power. Connect the audio device to the “L/R” output or “Optical” output port of the audio extractor.
Do you need a digital audio converter?****
Any time you want to listen to a digital audio signal (like an MP3 or the audio from a digital video) through an analog output (like wired headphones and speakers), you need a DAC to convert the digital signal from the source into an analog signal at the point of connection.
