Product Information

The 1200 Lb. Magnetic Gate Lock Kit consists of a magnetic lock and an armature that are designed to hold gates in a closed position. The lock achieves its maximum holding strength when the surfaces of the armature and the magnetic lock seat perfectly to one another when the gate is in the closed position. The armature is securely fastened to the gate frame and is able to move with the rubber spacer(s), which ensures correct alignment with the magnetic lock.

Product Installation Instructions

1. Weld the mounting brackets to the fence post and gate frame before assembling the armature and maglock.
2. Place the armature on the gate frame and use a sex nut to secure it directly to the frame, if desired.
3. If using the supplied armature mounting bracket, ensure it is securely fastened to the gate frame.
4. Position the moving gate frame armature to align with the magnetic lock and use rubber spacer(s) to adjust its position as necessary.
5. Install the supplied MOV across the power supply terminals to protect the magnetic lock from transient voltage spikes.
6. Wire for 24 VDC or 12 VDC only.

Important Notes

• The L and Z bracket kit (P/N BO3-S12) is available for different installation configurations.
• Polarity matters when wiring the lock kit.
• The product is for indoor use only.
• The access control device or gate operator must be normally closed.

• Rated 1 amp @ 30 Volt max. (Model 1216-081 Only)
• Red – Normally Closed

Installation

It is essential that the surfaces of the armature and the magnetic lock seat perfectly with one another when the gate is in the closed position. This allows the lock to achieve its maximum holding strength. It is critical the armature is securely fastened to the gate frame, but able to move with the 1/8 to 1/4 inch rubber spacer(s) to correctly align with the magnetic lock.

Important:
Weld the brackets to a fence post and gate frame BEFORE assembling the armature and maglock.

Note:
Additional hardware is supplied for a side mount option and different armature spacing configurations.

Sexnut Note:
Using the sex nut, the armature can be mounted directly to the gate frame without using the supplied armature mounting bracket. Secure the sex nut through the gate frame and into the armature bolt.

Wire for 24 VDC or 12 VDC ONLY

MOV Note:
Install the supplied MOV across the power supply terminals to protect the magnetic lock from transient voltage spikes.
