INSTRUCTION MANUAL
Model 1601 is intended for installation only on barrier gates used for
vehicles.
Pedestrians must be supplied with a separate access opening. For safety and
installation instructions, please refer to the Installation/Owner’s manual.

Tip: It is recommended that a surge suppressor be installed on the high voltage power lines.
115 VAC CONVENIENCE QUTLETS
Non-Contact Sensor Connected to Reverse Input Note: Helps minimize the arm
lowering on anything that blocks beam. Lowering arm will always reverse when
beam gets obstructed.
This setup does NOT distinguish between a vehicle and a pedestrian. It will
reverse arm for either when beam gets obstructed.

Installation Guidelines:
The Model 1601 gate operator is designed for vehicle barrier gates. Pedestrians should have a separate access opening for safety reasons.
Ensure the concrete pad is level and meets local building codes.
Bevel the edges to prevent water accumulation.
Mount the hub as shown with the operator in the DOWN position.
Test the hub’s UP and DOWN positions before installing the arm.
Electrical Connections:
Follow the provided wiring diagrams for proper electrical connections. Ensure the gate operator is properly grounded.
Use high-quality surge suppressors on high voltage power lines to protect the system.
Maintenance and Safety:
Regularly check for any loose parts or damaged components. Refer to the Installation/Owner’s manual for maintenance guidelines.
Keep the gate operator area clear of debris and obstacles for safe operation.

Q: Can the auto-close timer be used with a down loop?
A: Yes, when switch 7 (SW1) is turned ON, the automatic timer can be set from 1-59 seconds to lower the arm automatically. Refer to the manual for detailed instructions.
