Usage
The Aurora Standard 50 and Standard 55 riserecliners are designed for people
who may find it difficult to sit in or, raise themselves out of a conventional
chair. The rise-recliner is comfortable and has many settings to ensure the
user can enjoy the luxury it affords. The back is partitioned
with angle and height adjustments to the upper part, ensuring the best
possible support. The chair has been designed and tested to support weights of
up to 165kg. In addition, it has an adjustable breadth and the armrests can
move out to a total of 5cm. The Aurora 60 has the same functionality but is
modified to support a greater weight capacity of up to 260kg. The width of the
seat is 60cm. The 17 60 also has extended armrest functionality with a total
of 10cm expansion capacity.
The Aurora 40 and 45 are our smallest riserecliners. They have the same
capabilities as the other models, but are suitable for smaller people, even
though the maximum user weight is set at 165kg. The seat width is only 40 or
45cm wide. The seat is also shorter for the 40 models, compared to other
Aurora models.
All five models are available with turn and tilt functions. The turn function
allows 180° rotation of the chair. The tilt function allows the user to tilt
he entire unit, both in a sitting and horizontal position. In the maximum tilt
and default positions, the user can enjoy excellent benefits.
Assembly
-
ATTACHING THE BACK
During transit, the back of the chair is removed. Prior to use, therefore, the back must be mounted. Place left metal sleeve A over the long pin B – as shown in the picture. Then place the right sleeve C over the short pin D. After this, press the back all the way down on the pins so that it meets the bottom. -
POWER SUPPLY
To enable the chair’s electronic functions to be used, it must be connected to mains power. The supplied adaptor must be used here.
Use of remote control
The Aurora rise-recliner is operated using the remote. The remote is easily accessible, hanging on the outside of the armrest, on the right side as standard.

The Aurora is also operable by using the turn lock function. Simply swivel the chair by lifting the lever. When the desired position is reached, lock the chair into the nearest locking position. The chair can turn 180° and lock at 15° intersections. The lever is on the right as standard but can easily be moved to the left side. -
USB
Hero Aurora comes with USB in the armrest. The USB port can be used to charge or operate USB devices. Just plug in the desired device. Please keep in mind that the USB ports do not work unless the chair is plugged into the mains.
Customization
-
INTRO
In order for your Aurora chair to feel as comfortable as possible, it is important that it is adjusted according to your body size and sitting position. When the size of the chair is allocated, the following should be adjusted to get the maximum benefits from the chair: Seat height; seat depth; seat angle; upper back; neck pouch; armrest and leg support.
In addition, the chair can be used in conjunction with accessories suitable for the user. It is important for the user to utilize and relax into the natural contours of the chair

Adjusting the seat height
In order for your Aurora to deliver maximum comfort, it is necessary to adjust the seat height to suit your needs. This is done as follows:
• Lift the chair about halfway up using the handcontroller. Then remove the seat plate by removing the wing nuts below the screws towards the back of the plate.
• Loosen the screws so that the actuator bracket moves freely A.
• Loosen the column by opening the screws B.
• Adjust the chair to the correct height by turning screw C.
• Fasten screws A and B, and reattach the seat plate.
NB! Make sure the swing wire do not get too tight, but glide freely. Also make sure that the fabric strip from the foot pad is moved forward on the seat plate so that it is not too tight! Do not adjust higher/lower then the attached guide suggests! -
Adjusting seat depth
The seat cushion is attached to the seat plate with Velcro and is adjustable in depth. The cushion is detachable and can be moved to optimize comfort.
The seat plate is attached to the seat frame with two bolts and associated nuts. The seat plate has three holes for regulation. By default, the disc is attached to the center hole. Combining the position of the seat plate and seat cushion achieves the optimal seat depth for the user. -
Adjustment of seat angle
By adjusting the wheel under the seat, you can move the angle of the seat to the desired position. There is a wheel on each side. Before operating the wheel, the nuts securing the seat plate must be loosened slightly and then tightened again when the desired position is reached. -
Adjustment of the back
The upper part of the back can be used to extend the back. Lift it up or press it down as desired. It locks into stepped groves on the pins. The upper part of the back can also be angled. Bend it back or forth until you find the position that suits you.
If you want a shorter back, the upper part can be completely pulled off.
UPPER BACK
Turn and pull to desired position -
Adjusting neck pillow
The neck pillow hangs loosely over the backrest, guided by a cloth guard on the back. This, combined with counterweight, ensures that the pillow stays in place when placed in the desired position.
If you choose to use only the lower part of the back, your pillow can be moved down. -
Adjusting leg support
The leg support is attached to a scissor mechanism with two sliding rails. A tension strap pulls in the footpad when the leg rest is pushed in. The leg support rows in length when released and detracts when returned to the default position. -
Adjusting the seatback angle
To change the back angle, the upper back is pulled off the chair. In the upper actuator mount, one of three mounting holes can be selected. In the standard version, the actuator is mounted in the middle position. The desired angle on the back can be easily changed by mounting the lifting actuator in one of the other holes. When mounting in the upper hole, the angle of the back will change approx. 7 degrees backwards, and when mounting in the lower hole approx. 7 degrees forward. -
Adjusting the seat angle
To adjust the seat angle, lean the seat-back backwards so the chains connecting the seat frame ang seatback aren’t tight. Loosen the nuts A holding the chain rod, and adjust it upwards for a forward leaning seat angle. leave at least 1cm of rod above the nut.
When mounting the backrest, the two holes in the underside of the backrest must be threaded on the guide pins in the backrest frame B. also make sure that the back is firmly attached when mounting. -
Adjustment of armrest
Adjusting the armrest is something you can do yourself and is both simple to do and doesn’t require tools.
The armrest height can be adjusted seamlessly by loosening the wheel C and then raising or lowering it to suit the user. Once the desired position is found, the steering wheel locks again.
For increased ease of use, the armrest can be folded all the way down, which allows entry to the seat from the side.
In addition to height adjustments, the armrests can also be modified to extend the width of the chair – up to 5 cm ( 10 cm in total) on each side. For adjustment, loosen ratchet bracket D and pull armrest to desired position. Then fasten the ratchet bracket. Ensure that the ratchet mount D always points forward (parallel to the chair direction) after adjustment.
NB! Always raise the armrests from the folded position before they are adjusted sideways so that they can move freely. -
Conversion to vertical lift
Try Converting to a vertical lift is done in the following way
1. Unscrew the screw shown in the figure below (on both sides)
2. The poles are moved as directed
3. The screws are installed in the same way in the new position. Remember lubrication.
4. Cover to footrest is moved forward
NB! 60cm chair cannot be converted into a vertical lift.
Maintenance
-
Cleaning
Fabrics can be washed in a machine in temperatures up to 60° C. Do not tumble dry! After it has dried, it can be ironed gently. When washing the neck fabric, remove the material from the pouch as washing may cause corrosion. Furniture cleaning products can be used on stains. Other parts you can just wipe clean with a damp cloth.
Use with mild soapy water with damp, but not wet, cloth or sponge. Other parts should be treated once a year with neutral leather cream. -
Other maintenance
Basically, there is no need for additional maintenance other than the recommended cleaning routines. Over time, however, it may be necessary to lubricate moving parts to keep product quality and functionality. If there is dysfunction in moving parts, grease with a mild, thin oil. In case of further malfunction of the chair, please contact our Help Centre. Regarding products purchased directly from us, please contact Hero on: Tel. +47 46 74 55 55.
