PfISTER GT529-MD Single Control Kitchen Faucet
Thank you for purchasing this Pfister product. All Pfister products are carefully engineered, and factory tested to provide long trouble-free use under normal conditions. This product is easy to install using basic tools and our easy-to-follow illustrated instructions. If you have any questions regarding this product, call 1-800-Pfaucet (1-800-732-8238).
BEFORE PROCEEDING
WARNING: Read all the instructions completely before proceeding. Pfister recommends calling a professional if you are uncertain about installing this product! This product should be installed in accordance with all local and state plumbing and building codes.
SHUT OFF WATER SUPPLY
Locate water supply inlets and shut off the water supply valves. These are usually found under the sink or near the water meter. If you are replacing an existing faucet, remove the old faucet from the sink and clean the sink surface thoroughly.

Your installation may require new supply lines and/or shut-off valves or other additional tools.
CHECKING THE CONTENTS OF THE BOX
Upon opening the box, check to ensure that all of the following items are included:
- A Faucet Body
- B Spray Head
- C Pull-Out Hose
- D Soap Dispenser
- E Soap Dispenser Head
- F Deckplate
- G Putty Plate
- H Wing Nuts (2x)
- J Metal Washer
- K Locknut
- L Weight
- M Quick Connector
- N Mounting Ring
- P Putty Ring
- Q Inlet Connectors (2x)

These instructions cover two different installations
- Option 1: 4 Hole With Deckplate Installation
- Option 2: 2 Hole With Single Post Installation
4 HOLE INSTALLATION
INSTALLING DECKPLATE
Ensure that Plastic Putty Plate (6A) is pressed on to Deckplate (6B). Place a bead of plumber’s putty in the bottom groove along the outer edge of the Putty Plate (6A). Install Deckplate (6B) over the three holes in your sink.
SECURING DECK PLATE
- From underneath sink, hand tighten Wing Nuts (7A). Caution: do not over-tighten wing nuts. Remove any excess putty from around the outside edge of Putty Plate (7B).
2 HOLE INSTALLATION
INSTALLING MOUNTING RING
Place Mounting Ring (8A) over Plastic Seal (8B) and sink hole. Align Mounting Ring (8A) to the center of sink hole. Place a bead of plumber’s putty in the bottom groove along the outer edge of Plastic Ring (8B).
BODY INSTALLATION
Retract Pullout Hose (9A) up through Faucet Body (9B), until the pullout hose fitting is flush with the bottom of Mounting Shank (9C). Insert Faucet Supply Tubes (9D) and Mounting Shank (9C) through the hole in Deck Plate (9F) or Mounting Ring (9G). Handle (9E) can be oriented to the right or the left. Be sure that Protective Caps (9H) are in place.
Note: Do not feed the pullout Hose (9A) back down through the spout yet.
SECURING SPOUT BODY
From underneath sink, place Washer (10A) and Locknut (10B) over Pull-Out Hose (10C) and Supply Tubes (10D). Thread loosely onto Mounting Shank (10E). Make sure that Handle (10F) is properly aligned to sink. Tighten faucet firmly to sink.
QUICK CONNECT & WEIGHT ATTACHMENT
- Insert the end of the Pull-Out Hose (11A) into the Weight (11B). Screw Quick Connector (11C) to the free end of the Pull-Out Hose (11A).
PULL-OUT HOSE ATTACHMENT
From underneath sink, remove Protective Cap (12E). Push Quick Connector (12A), located on the end of the Pull-Out Hose (12B) firmly upward onto the Receiving Tube (12C), until unable to push any further. Pull down on the Quick Connector (12A). If the housing and the inner collect separate slightly but do not pull off, the Receiving Tube (12C) quick connect is secure.
SOAP DISPENSER INSTALLATION
- From above sink, insert threaded Shank (13A) of soap dispenser body through Foam Gasket (13B) and sink hole. From below sink, tighten Nut (13C) and thread on Soap Bottle (13D) to Shank (13A).
SOAP DISPENSER HEAD INSTALLATION
Pour liquid soap (not included) into the Soap Dispenser Body (14A). Insert Pump Mechanism (14B) into Soap Dispenser Body (14A). Install Dispenser Head (14C) by pushing firmly onto Pump Mechanism (14B).
- Water Supply Lines are not included. Please consult manufacturer and/or its instructions for the correct method of installation of supply lines and fittings.
CAUTION: Incorrect application of supply lines and fittings may result in the failure or leak of the supply lines and fittings.
WATER SUPPLY CONNECTIONS **
**
- Thread Inlet Connectors (15A) into Water Supply Lines (15B).
- Remove Protective Cap (15F). Gently separate hot and cold Faucet Inlets (15C), approximately 1 in. (26 mm) apart. Connect Water Supply Lines (15B) onto Faucet Inlets (15C). Hot water supply line goes to hot inlet fitting indicated by red tag.
UNIT START-UP
- Turn on hot and cold water supplies, and check for leaks above and below the sink.
FAUCET FUNCTIONS
SPOUT FUNCTION
- The Spout (17A) can be rotated around the Faucet Body in any direction.
VALVE FUNCTION
By rotating the Lever Handle (18A) away from the Faucet Body (18B), the valve will be activated allowing water to flow. The water flow will increase by continuing to rotate the Lever Handle (18A). By rotating the Lever Handle towards you, the water temperature will decrease to cold flow only. By rotating the Lever Handle away from you, the water temperature will increased to hot flow only.
_ Note: _Flush faucet before turning on valve (see step 23).
PULL-OUT OPERATION
- The Pull-Out Hose (19A) can be pulled forward to spray water in any direction.
SPRAY OPERATION
By activating the valve, water will flow in regular stream mode. To activate the spray mode, press Button (20A) located behind Spray Head (20C). By pressing Button (20B), the spray pattern will change between spray and stream while the faucet is in operation. By holding Button (20B), the water flow will pause. The water flow will resume once Button (20B) is released.
SOAP DISPENSER OPERATION
- To activate Soap Dispenser (21A), press Dispenser Head (21B) to spray liquid soap.
MAINTENANCE & CARE
SPRAY HEAD REMOVAL
To prevent damage to the internal parts of your faucet from debris that may have collected in the water lines, it will be necessary to flush the faucet. Flushing requires the removal of the sSpray Head (22A). To remove the Spray Head (22A), hold metal Hose Fitting (22B) and turn the Spray Head (22A) counterclockwise.
FLUSHING
Turn on Valve Lever Handle (23A). Run water for one minute. Repeat in hot and cold positions. Reassemble the Spray Head (23B) to the Pull-Out Hose (23C) by turning Spray Head (23B) clockwise.
Caution: Do not over tighten Spray hHead and Pull-Out Hose.
AERATOR CLEANING
Over time, the aerator in your faucet may become clogged with debris. To clean the aerator, unscrew Aerator Housing (24A) from Spray Head (24B). Remove Aerator Seal (24C) and Aerator Cartridge (24D) from Aerator Housing (24A). Clean Aerator Cartridge (24D) and Aerator Housing (24A). Reassemble faucet by reversing steps.
PULL-OUT HOSE REMOVAL
- To remove the quick connect attachment: Push down on Quick Connector button (25B).
- Then pull downward on Quick Connector (25A) until Tube (25C) is free.
CARTRIDGE REPLACEMENT
- Turn off water supplies and relieve pressure before working on your faucet.
- Using a 3/32” Hex wrench, loosen Set Screw (26A) and remove Handle (26B). Remove Dome Cap (26C) by unscrewing counterclockwise. Unscrew Retainer Ring (26D) and carefully remove Cartridge (26)E) by pulling it straight up and out.
- Reassemble faucet by reversing steps.
CAUTION: Maintenance
DISASSEMBLY
- Replacement parts may be available at the store where you purchased your faucet.
- When replacement parts are not available, please write or call Pfister Consumer Service.
- Always turn off water and relieve pressure before working on your faucet.
NOTE: Trim Care
Cleaning Instructions
For all Handles and decorative finishes, use only a soft damp cloth to clean and shine. Use of polish, detergents, abrasive cleaners, organic solvents or acid may cause damage. Use of other than a soft damp cloth will nullify our warranty!
Special Trim
- Trim products which contain Porcelain or other similar substance are not acceptable for public areas or Commercial use. Installation of Said Trim is at Users Risk!

LIFETIME WARRANTY
Pfister Lifetime Mechanical & Pfinish Warranty Covers Pfinish & Pfunction for as Long as You Own Your Home (Commercial Applications Limit the Duration of the Warranties Provided Below) Pfister provides the following Warranties for its products. Proof of Purchase may be required in order to obtain any of the benefits set forth below.
Limited Warranties: Pfister warrants that for as long as the original purchaser owns the home in which the Pfister product (the “Product”) is originally installed, the Product will be free of all defects in material and workmanship that would impair the intended and proper use of the Product. If the Product is installed in a commercial application, the above mechanical warranty shall be limited for a period of ten (10) years from the date of purchase of the Product.
Pfister warrants against deterioration of the Product’s finish for as long as the original purchaser owns the home in which the Product is originally installed. If the Product is installed in a commercial application, the above finish warranty for Products that do not contain the Pforever finish shall be limited to a period of ten (10) years from the date of purchase.
Exclusive Remedy: In the event of any defect in the Product that breaches the foregoing warranties, Pfister, at its option, will repair or replace the defective part of the Product. Repair or replacement of the Product is the exclusive remedy.
For any remedy under this warranty, Pfister is to be notified describing the problem. In order to notify Pfister and receive assistance or service under this warranty, the original purchaser may: (1) call 1-800-Pfaucet (1-800-732-8238) for a consumer service representative who can assist you, or (2) write consumer service department c/o Pfister Inc., 19701 DaVinci, Lake Forest, CA 92610, and include a description of the problem, model number, your name, address, phone number and approximate date of purchase, or (3) email Pfister’s customer service department by going to www.Pfisterfaucets.com, or (4) notify the location or distributor from which the Product was purchased. In any case, you may be required to return the Product to Pfister for inspection and proof of purchase may be required.
Limitations and Exclusions
Pfister WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY OTHER DAMAGES OR LOSSES, INCLUDING, BUT NOT LIMITED TO, INCIDENTAL AND/OR CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES, REGARDLESS OF THE LEGAL THEORY ASSERTED, INCLUDING ANY CLAIM OR BREACH OF WARRANTY HEREUNDER OR ANY OTHER CAUSE, AND WHETHER ARISING IN CONTRACT OR IN TORT (including negligence and strict liability).
Pfister has the right to discontinue or modify any product at any time. Some states do not allow limitations or exclusions of incidental or consequential damages, so the above limitations or exclusions may not apply to you. This warranty gives you specific legal rights, and you may also have other rights which vary from state to state. The above warranties do not cover damage resulting from improper maintenance, repair, cleaning or installation, misuse, abuse, alterations, accidents or acts of God.
