Note – during the first minutes of operation (on the first use only), the appliance may produce some smoke that will disappear right away. This is normal and does not
affect the safety or operation of the appliance.

Use

Fully unwind the power cable.
Place the appliance on a flat and horizontal surface, such that the power cable is not stretched out. Lightly grease the nonstick plates with cooking oil.
Plug the power cable into the electrical socket. If using an extension cable, make sure it is grounded. The power indicator light will turn on, indicating that the appliance is connected to the electrical current.
Rotate the thermostat control knob between the Min and Max position, depending on the food to be cooked. The operating indicator light will turn on.
Unlock the plates by moving the lock/ elevation lever to the unlocked position.
Warning: the nonstick plates and appliance surfaces can heat up during appliance operation. To prevent the risk of burns, only touch the appliance by its handle.
Allow the nonstick plates to preheat for 5 to 7 minutes. The operating indicator light will turn off, indicating that the appliance is ready to cook. Use the handle to lift the upper plate. Place the foods on the lower plate using, if necessary, a wooden or heat-resistant plastic utensil.
Warning: do not use metal utensils on the nonstick plates, as this may irreparably damage the nonstick coating. Use the handle to lower the upper nonstick plate. Note – the operating indicator light may turn on and off during cooking, which is normal and does not affect the operation of the appliance. Important – always remove foods with the
help of a plastic or wooden spatula. Never use metallic tongs or knives, as these may cause irreparable damage to the nonstick coating of the plates.

Using the grill in the closed position (fig. 1)

When the foods are cooked, use the handle to open the grill.

Using the grill in the parallel plate position (fig. 2)

Adjust the thermostat control to the desired temperature. To start, turn it to the Max position, later adjusting it to your preference. Unlock the upper plate. Prepare the foods and place them on the lower plate, using the handle to lift the upper plate. Slide the lock/elevation lever back and close the grill. In this position, the lock/elevation lever
prevents the upper plate from pressing down on the food.

Adjust the thermostat control (6) to the desired temperature. To start, turn it to the Max position, later adjusting it to your preference. Unlock the upper plate. Use the handle to lift the upper plate and press the 180° release button to unlock the upper plate and allow the grill to open completely. Prepare the foods and place them on the plates.
Note – some foods release more liquids than others. Pay attention, as some liquids may drip outside the fat collection tray.

CLEANING AND MAINTENANCE

Always unplug the grill and let it cool before cleaning it. The grill is easier to clean when it is slightly warm, but take care not to burn yourself. The grill does not need to be disassembled for cleaning. Never submerge the grill in water or put it in the dishwasher. Clean the plates with a soft cloth to remove food residue. You may squeeze a little bit
of warm water mixed with detergent or place a damp paper towel on the plates to moisten the residues. Clean with a nonabrasive sponge, cloth or paper towel. Never use brasive products that may scratch or damage the nonstick coating. Do not use metal utensils to remove the foods, as these may damage the nonstick surface. Only use a damp cloth to clean the exterior of the grill. Do not clean the exterior with abrasive sponges or steel wool, as these will damage the finish. Do not submerge in water or any other liquid. Do not wash in the dishwasher.
Cleaning the fat collection tray (fig. 5)
Remove and empty the fat collection tray (8) after each use and wash with warm water and detergent. Avoid using scrub pads or aggressive detergents as these can damage the surface. Rinse and dry well with a clean, soft cloth and return to its original position.
Storing the grill (fig. 6)
The grill may be stored vertically. Always unplug the grill before storing it. Always make sure the grill is cool and dry before storing it.
