ACCESSORIES
Accessories can be purchased from your local dealer or at www.midlandusa.com Set-up

  1. Install the batteries.
    a. Remove the clear lens cover.
b.lnstall 2 AA batteries (Included) observing polarity.
    c. Replace the lens cover, making sure it locks into place

  2. Connect the 3.5 mm jack on the STR180 cable to the External Alert Jack output of your Midland Weather Alert radio(WR120 example shown).

  3. Remove the backing from the Velcro strip and mount the STR180 to a place that will give you high visibility.

How it Works

  1. The STR180 will flash continuously when the Midland weather radio is activated by a National Weather Service alert broadcast. It will continue to flash for the duration of the NWS alert.

  2. When the batteries are low, the center LED of the STR180 will flash once every 5 minutes.
    • The STR180 will continue to work until the batteries are fully depleted but they should be replaced as soon as possible to avoid missing an important alert.
    • It is recommended that you replace the batteries on a regular schedule, similar to that of a smoke detector.

  3. The STR180 may be compatible with other radios that provide a ground signal to complete the circuit of an external accessory. Check your radio’s owner’s manual or with the radio’s manufacturer to see if it provides this type of output.
