- Install the lift handle (C) onto the handle shaft (2) and rotate the handle clockwise to raise the lifting platform (4) slightly.
- Loosen the saddle gripping bolts (5) and slide the frame saddles (B) onto the lifting platform.
- Tighten the gripping bolts and rotate the lift handle anticlockwise to lower the platform to its original position.
6.2 Preparing the Motorcycle Lift
Important: ALWAYS ensure that the motorcycle lift is correctly prepared before
mounting a vehicle and that there is suitable clearance below the motorcycle
to accommodate the lift.
-
Ensure that the product is situated on a flat, solid and level surface (preferably concrete) that is capable of bearing the pressure of the raised load, with enough clearance around the platform to accommodate the load.
— The product can be used in conjunction with a larger motorcycle platform lift. Important Ensure that this product is located centrally on the platform lift and is both stable and secure.
— For greater security, this product can be secured to the floor using suitable fixtures through the mounting holes (7) on the base of the unit.
— Ensure that the product will not move while under load. -
Loosen the saddle gripping bolts (5) and position the frame saddles (1) in preparation for the vehicle to be loaded. Important: Ensure that the saddle gripping bolts are securely tightened once positioned.
-
Use the lift handle to test the raising and lowering action of the platform and ensure that the stilts (6) and handle move with a smooth motion without binding, slipping or obstruction.
6.3 Raising and Lowering a Load
Important: ALWAYS use this manual in conjunction with the vehicle
manufacturer’s instructions to identify the safe lifting points and processes
specific to the vehicle to be raised. Ensure that the motorcycle has a
suitable structure and centre of gravity to be supported by the lift.
-
Move the vehicle to an appropriate location and position the motorcycle lift beneath it.
Important: Inspect the vehicle for suitable lifting points and consult the manufacturer’s instructions.
Important: Consider the vehicle’s centre of gravity and the potential change in balance when parts are removed that may affect the stability of the motorcycle. -
Rotate the lift handle (3) clockwise to raise the lifting platform (4) until the frame saddles (1) contact the motorcycle.
-
Check the position of the load and frame saddles and make adjustments as necessary.
Important: Draper Tools recommends securing the motorcycle using suitable straps, particularly if the product is used in conjunction with a larger platform lift. -
When the motorcycle is stable and secure, continue rotating the lift handle to raise the vehicle to the required position.
Important: Check the security and safe positioning of the load after raising it a short distance and continue to observe the load throughout the duration of the lift. -
When the work is complete, ensure that there are no obstructions beneath the lifting platform and rotate the lift handle anticlockwise to lower the load.
-
When the motorcycle is fully lowered, ensure that the bike is standing securely upright on its wheels before releasing it from the lifting platform.
-
Remove the lift from beneath the motorcycle and clear of the work area.
