Description

ASC-1
The ASC-1 is an MXLV card which plugs into one slot of the OMM-1 cardcage. It supervises the output of up to three primary and optionally, one backup amplifier. The amplifiers may be on the same or different audio channels. One ASC-1 is required for each 3 primary amplifiers, even if no backup amplifiers are being used. The ASC-1 monitors and compares the channel riser output on the OMM-1 to the amplifier output. If it determines that the output of any primary amplifier is incorrect, it will automatically transfer operation to the backup amplifier. The backup amplifier may be shared by multiple ASC-1 cards providing the ability to determine the primary to backup ratio. If desired, backup amplification can be provided on a one for one basis, using one ASC-1 for each primary/backup amplifier set. Each ASC-1 occupies one OCC-1 sub-address. The address is set using an on-board DIP switch. A second DIP switch is provided for configuration of the ASC-1. Connections between the amplifiers, audio riser busses and the ASC-1 are made through the appropriate OMM- 1 screw terminals. This equipment is approved for operation over the temperature range of 0°C to 49°C.

ASC-2
The ASC-2 is an MXLV card which plugs into one slot of the OMM-1 cardcage. It supervises the output of one primary and optionally, one backup amplifier. One ASC-2 is required for each primary amplifier, whenever a high power audio riser is to be connected to ICP Control modules, even if no backup amplifiers are being used. The ASC-2 monitors and compares the channel riser output on the OMM-1 to the amplifier output. If it determines that the output of any primary amplifier is incorrect, it will automatically transfer operation to the backup amplifier. The backup amplifier may be shared by multiple ASC-2 cards providing the ability to determine the primary to backup ratio. If desired, backup amplification can be provided on a one for one basis, using one ASC-2 for each primary/backup amplifier set. Each ASC-2 occupies one OCC-1 sub-address. The address is set using an on-board DIP switch. A second DIP switch is provided for audio configuration of the ASC-2. Connections between the amplifiers, audio riser busses and the ASC-2 are made through the appropriate OMM- 1 screw terminals. This equipment is approved for operation over the temperature range of 0°C to 49°C

Engineer and Architect Specifications

ASC-1
Supervision of primary and backup amplifiers shall be provided by a configurable plug-in module, model ASC- 1. The card shall plug into one slot in on the OMM-1 MXLV cardcage. Multiple ASC-1s may be used to supervise additional amplifiers, both primary and backup, as necessary. Through the use of the ASC-1, backup amplification shall be provided on either a one for one or one for multiple basis. Backup amplifiers shall be capable of supporting primary amplifiers in any of 3 channels. The amplifier supervisory card shall monitor the input and output of each amplifier and check for proper audio level. If a primary amplifier output is found to be defective, the supervisory card shall annunciate a system fault condition and transfer operation to the backup amplifier if supplied. The backup amplifier shall replace the first failed primary amplifier. The ASC-1 card edge fingers shall be gold plated for highest reliability. The module shall be provided with a key which when inserted into the OMM-1 card slot will prevent any other type of module from being inadvertently plugged into that slot. The ASC-1 shall occupy one of the OCC-1 module subaddresses. This address shall be set using an on-board DIP switch. A second dip switch shall be provided to configure the ASC-1 operation.

ASC-2
Supervision of primary and backup amplifiers shall be provided by a configurable plug-in module, model ASC- 2. The card shall plug into one slot in on the OMM-1 MXLV cardcage. It shall be capable of supervising one primary and optionally, one backup amplifier. The ASC- 2 shall be used to supervise high power audio risers when ICP remote control modules are controlling audio zones. Multiple ASC-2’s may be used to supervise additional amplifiers, both primary and backup, as necessary. Through the use of the ASC-2, backup amplification shall be provided on either a one for one or one for multiple basis. The amplifier supervisory card shall monitor the input and output of each amplifier and check for proper audio level. If a primary amplifier output is found to be defective, the supervisory card shall annunciate a system fault condition and transfer operation to the backup amplifier if supplied. It shall also initiate a system trouble condition regardless of whether or not a backup amplifier is supplied. The ASC-2 card edge fingers shall be gold plated for highest reliability. The module shall be provided with a key which when inserted into the OMM-1 card slot will prevent any other type of module from being inadvertently plugged into that slot. The ASC-2 shall occupy one of the OCC-1 module subaddresses. This address shall be set using an on-board DIP switch. A second dip switch shall be provided to configure the ASC-2 operation.
