Installing the DKVM-IP8
The DKVM-IP8 supports hot-plugging. You don’t need to turn your computers off
before installing the device.
A. Attach your USB keyboard connector to the console USB port of the DKVM-IP8.
B. Attach your USB mouse connector to the console USB port of the DKVM-IP8.
C. Attach your monitor’s HDB 15 VGA connector to the console port of the DKVM-
IP8.
The following steps below apply to each computer that you are using with your
DKVM-IP8.
D. Attach the KVM cable (VGA connector) to the VGA port located on the DKVM-
IP8.
E. Attach the KVM cable (USB connector) to the USB port located on the back of
your computer case.
F. Attach the KVM cable (VGA connector) to the VGA port located on the back of
your computer case.
Installation of the DKVM-IP8 is now complete.
Switching with the DKVM-IP8
The DKVM-IP8 features the buttons located on the front panel to switch quickly
and easily between your computers.
Note: Don’t switch PC without finishing PC boot-up.
Hot Keys
You can also use keyboard to switch between your computers. Press the key
twice within 2 seconds to enter Hot Key switching mode.
Hot Keys Home / Caps Lock / Scroll Lock / Num Lock A beep confirms that the
Hot Key mode is activated. By default, the Home key is used to enter the Hot
Key mode. Alternatively, you can use the Caps Lock, Scroll Lock or Num Lock
keys.

automatically after scan interval expires (5 seconds by default). Press any key to stop autoscan mode
Note: Hot Keys can be achieved under OSD mode. Press Home + Home + Enter
to enter OSD menu.
Note: If you are using OSD, you can click directly when you are on the
main menu. Because under the OSD menu, you can press ↓ or ↑ keys to move the
corresponding port. Then press
Enter key, the DKVM-IP8 will switch to this input.
Note: You can use Home + Home + F11 + Enter to reset the KVM switch.
Configuring the DKVM-IP8
The DKVM-IP8 default settings:
Username: admin
Password: 12345
DHCP: Disabled
IP address: 192.168.1.101
Subnet mask: 255.255.255.0
You can use a Web browser to configure the DKVM-IP8. The computer, which will
be used for configuring the KVM switch, should have an IP address in the same
range as the DKVM-IP8. In order to enter the Web-based GUI, please open a Web
browser and enter the IP address of the KVM switch in the address bar. Then
press Enter. When the dialog box appears, enter the username and the password.
Press Login.
Note: Press and hold the Reset button on the console panel for 10 seconds
to restore the default settings. Wait until resetting the settings is
completed (5 seconds), then disconnect and connect the power adapter to the
electrical network again. After the device is booted (1 minute), it will be
accessible via its default IP address.
Note: You can remotely control the DKVM-IP8 using the 5.0 (V1.5) JRE
(Java Runtime Environment) program platform. You can download it from the
following website: http://www.java.com/.
