NOTICE
This appliance is adjusted to work with gases C30 / 031 {Butane/Propane) or a mix of them, at 28-30/37/50 mbar. DO NOT USE OTHER TYPES OF GASES!
WARNING

  • For use outdoors or in amply ventilated areas
  • An amply ventilated area must have a minimum of 25 % of the surface area open. The surface area is the sun of the wall’s surface.

CAUTION
Please read carefully the following safety gtidelines before operation.

  • Read all instructions before installation and use.

  • This appliance must be installed and the gas cylinder stored in accordance with national regulations.

  • Do not obstruct the ventilation holes of the cylinder housing.

  • Do not move the appliance when it is in use.

  • Shut off the valve of the gas cylinder or the regulator before moving the appkanCe.

  • The tubing or the flexible hose must be changed within the prescribed intervals.

  • Only use the type of gas and the type of cylinder specified by the manufacturer.

  • In case of windy conditions, particular attention must be taken to prevent the appliance from titing.

  • The use of this appliance in enclosed areas can be dangerous and is PROHIBITED.

  • Do not store Or use gaSOkne or other flammable vapors or liquids in the appkance unit.

  • Installation and repair should only be performed by a qualified service professional.

  • The LPG Gas Cylinder must be stored in the appropriate LPG GaS Cylinder Housing, which must be of proper shape and in accordance with National regulations.

  • Improper installation. adjustment and alteration can cause personal injury or property damage.

  • Do not attempt to alter the appkarce in any manner. It is very dangerous.

  • The regulator and gas hose must abide by National regulations and each component must be changed within the prescribed intervals.

  • Make sure the regulator is secured and in good condition.

  • All leak tests should be done with a soap solution. Never use an open flame to check for leaks!

  • The gas circuit-gas hose regulator, pilot and burner should all be inspected for leaks or damage prior to each use, and at least once a month.

  • Do not use the appliance until all connections have been leak tested.

  • Do not paint the radiant screen, control panel or top canopy reflector.

  • Turn off the gas tap immediately if the smell of gas is detected.

  • Do not move the appliance until it has completely cooled after use

  • Control compartment, burner and circulation air passageways of the appliance must be kept clean

  • Frequent cleaning may be required as necessary.

  • The LPG Gas Cylinder valve should be turned off when the appliance is not in use.

  • The regulator and gas hose assembly must be located out of pathways where people may trip over it. Keep the gas hose away from areas where it may be subjected to accidental damage.

  • Any guard or other protective device removed for servicing the appliance must be replaced before operating the appliance.

  • Adults and children should stay away from high temperature surfaces to avoid burns or clothing ignition.

  • Children should be carefully supervised when they are in close proximity of the appliance.

  • Clothing or other flammable materials should not be placed on or near the appliance.
    ATTENTION Surface very hot. Do not touch!

  • Keep the ventilation opening of the LPG Gas Cylinder housing free and clear of debris.

• Turn off the appliance immediately if any of the following occurs

  1. The appliance does not reach desired temperature.
  2. The burner makes a popping noise during use (a slight noise is normal when the burner is extinguished)
  3. There is a gas odor in conjunction with the burner flames turning yellow. Please keep these instructions for future reference.

Improper installation, adjustment, alteration, service or maintenance can cause injury or property damage. Read the installation, operating and maintenance instructions thoroughly before installing or servicing this appliance. If the user cannot read or fully understand the instruction manual, please contact your dealer. Supplier is not responsible for the user’s negligence.

Appliance stand and location
This appliance is for OUTDOOR USE ONLY. Do NOT use it indoors or in an enclosed area. Always ensure that adequate fresh air ventilation is provided.

  • Always maintain proper clearance from combustible materials (i.e. 1000 mm from the top and 500 mm from the sides as a minimum.)
  • Never operate the appliance in an explosive atmosphere like in areas where gasoline or other flammable liquids or vapors are stored.

Gas requirements

  • The regulator and gas hose are supplied with this appliance. You should only replace them with parts that are in accordance with National regulations. Consider the expiration date, warnings of this instruction manual and National regulations when replacing parts.
  • Supply pressure to appliance:
    Nominal inlet pressure: 28-30/37 mbar
    Minimum inlet pressure: 30 mbar
    *Maximum inlet pressure: 50 mbar
  • Gases to be supplied: Butane, Propane or a mixture of these two
  • LPG Gas Cylinder size: Not to exceed 15 kg (maximum)
  • Use regulator that abides by Standard EN 16129, according to National regulations. Make sure it is in good condition and replace as needed if damaged or no longer approved.
  • Check the regulator and gas hose connections at least once per month and each time the LPG Gas Cylinder is changed. If they show signs of cracking, splitting or other deterioration, they should be replaced with a new regulator and gas hose of the same length (but not over 1.5m) and of equivalent quality, and according to National regulations.
  • The installation must be done according to National regulations.
  • A dented, rusted or damaged LPG Gas Cylinder may be hazardous and should be checked by your LPG Gas Cylinder supplier. Never use a LPG Gas Cylinder with a damaged valve connection.
  • The LPG Gas Cylinder must be arranged to provide for vapor withdrawal from the operating cylinder.
  • Never connect a LPG Gas Cylinder without a regulator to this appliance.
  • Disconnect the LPG Gas Cylinder when the appliance is not in use.

Assembly Instructions

Step 1:
Remove the four large screws and large nuts that secure the base to the sandbox, then pry open the plastic cap on the top. Fill the sandbox with water or sand, then replace the plastic cap. Slide the base back on the sandbox, then reinsert the screws and secure by tightening the nuts on the bolts.

Step 2:
Align holes in the wheel assembly with the holes in the base, then insert two small bolts through the holes and hand tighten. Make sure that the wheel assembly is parallel to the base, then tighten the bolts with the wrench.

Step 3:
Align the holes in the bottom of the post support H and base, then secure with a small bolt (hand tighten). Repeat with the other two post supports, then tighten all bolts with the wrench.

Step 4:
Align the holes in the post F with the holes in the tops of the post supports. Insert a large bolt through each hole, then secure with a small flange nut. Tighten with the wrench after all bolts have been inserted.

Step 5:
Insert the Gas Cylinder Housing D onto the post and lower it until it rests on the base.

Step 6: Insert the reflector studs into the large flat washers, then push them into the holes on the top of the head assembly C. Step 7: Route the gas hose CO down through the post, then place the head assembly on the top of the post, making sure that the screw holes on the head assembly align with the holes in the top of the post (the control knob should be above the decal on the post). Insert the four small bolts and lock washers and tighten securely.

Step 8a: Slide two of the reflector panels together, then insert one small screw and loosely screw on a cap nut. Add the third and fourth reflector panels to the assembly.amazonbasics 46 000 BTU Outdoor Propane Patio Heater-
center cap Step 8b: Slide the reflector center cap B onto the assembled reflector panels. Insert one small screw and loosely screw on a cap nut. Repeat with two more small screws and cap nuts to complete reflector assembly. Fully tighten all screws and cap nuts.
Assembly Tip: If the reflector sections aren’t aligning, loosen each screw before further assembly and retighten after the sections are aligned.

Step 9: While supporting the heater, tilt the head assembly and slide three large flat washers over the reflector studs. Place the reflector assembly onto the reflector studs, then slide three more large flat washers over the reflector studs and onto the reflector assembly. tank Step 10: Lift the tank housing up and rest the proper LPG Gas Cylinder (sold separately) on the top of the assembled post supports. Move the LPG Gas Cylinder onto base of the heater. Secure the LPG Gas Cylinder by attaching the chain to the post supports. Lower the LPG Gas Cylinder housing.
CAUTION
The regulator and hose are supplied with this appliance and you must use the proper attachments as required by National Rules in force. The regulator must be 28-30/37/50 mbar. If other any other pieces or materials are required to ensure proper attachment, they must be in accordance with Standard EN 751 only. Make sure to perform a proper leak test each time you disconnect/re- connect the regulator and hose.
NOTICE
Only use the proper LPG Gas cylinder as approved by National Rules in force. Use this heater only with a LPG Gas Cylinder not to exceed 15 kg (maximum). A dented, rusted or damaged LPG Gas Cylinder may be hazardous and should be checked by your LPG Gas Cylinder supplier. Never use a LPG Gas Cylinder with a damaged valve connection. The LPG Gas Cylinder must be arranged to provide for vapor withdrawal from the operating cylinder. Never connect a LPG Gas Cylinder without a regulator to this appliance. Disconnect the LPG Gas Cylinder when the appliance is not in use.
Step 11: Perform a leak test. Gas connections on the appliance are leak tested at the factory prior to shipment. Possible mishandling of the appliance during the shipment might contribute to product integrity as a whole. A complete gas leakage test must be performed again at the installation site. Please follow the procedure below for leak test:

  • Make a soap solution of one part liquid detergent and one part water. The soap solution can be applied with spray bottle, brush or rag. Soap bubbles will appear where a leak is present.
  • Make sure the control knob is in the “OFF” position on the control panel.
  • Turn on the gas supply and check for bubbles from the hoses and connections. Presence of bubbles means that a leak is present.
  • If a leak is present, turn OFF the gas supply immediately, tighten any leaking fitting carefully, turn gas supply on again and re-check for leak.

Never leak test while smoking or near an open flame.
IF NO BUBBLES APPEAR AT ANY CONNECTION, THE CONNECTIONS ARE SECURE.
NOTICE
Whenever gas connections are loosened or removed,you must perform a complete leak test.
Using Your Patio Heater
CAUTION
Do not attempt to operate this appliance until you have read and understand all of the safety information in the manual, the assembly is complete, and leak tests have been performed.
Before Turning The Gas Supply ON

  • Your heater was designed and approved for OUTDOOR use only. Do NOT use it inside a building, garage, or any other enclosed area.
  • Make sure that surrounding areas are free of combustible materials, gasoline, and other flammable vapors or liquids.
  • Make sure that there are no obstructions to air ventilation. Be sure all gas connections are tight and there are no leaks.
  • Make sure that the LPG Gas Cylinder housing is clear of debris. Be sure any component removed during assembly or servicing is replaced and fastened prior to starting.

Before Lighting Your Heater

  • Your heater should be thoroughly inspected before each use, and by a qualified service person at least annually. Always wait at least five minutes if you are re-lighting a hot heater.
  • Inspect the gas hose for evidence of excessive abrasion, cuts, or wear. Suspected areas should be leak-tested. If the gas hose leaks, it must be replaced prior to operation. Use only a replacement assembly specified by the manufacturer

Lighting Your Heater
NOTICE
When starting your heater for the first time, or after you change the LPG Gas Cylinder push and hold the control knob in for two minutes to remove air from the gas lines.

  1. Push in the control knob and turn it

  4. While pushing in the control knob, press the red button repeatedly until the main burner lights. Continue to hold the control knob in for 30 more seconds, then release it.
  5. Turn the control knob to adjust the flame.
  6. When you are finished, turn the control knob and propane tank OFF. Wait at least five minutes before re-lighting the heater. If you experience any ignition problems, please see “Troubleshooting” on page 22.

CAUTION
Avoid inhaling the fumes emitted from the heater’s first use. Smoke and odor from the burning of oils used in the manufacturing may be present. The smoke and odor dissipates after approximately 30 minutes. The heater should NOT produce thick black smoke.
WARNING
For your safety! Be careful when attempting to manually ignite this heater. Holding on the control knob for more than 10 seconds before igniting the gas will cause a ball of flame upon ignition.
When the Heater is ON

  • The emitter screen becomes bright red due to intense heat.

  • The color is more visible at night.

  • The burner displays tongues of blue and yellow flame.

  • These flames should not be yellow or produce thick black smoke, indicating an obstruction of airflow through the burners.

  • The flame should be blue with straight yellow tops.

  • If excessive yellow flame is detected. turn off the heater and refer to “Troubleshooting’ on page 22 .
    Re-lighting Your Heater

  • Push in the control knob and turn it .

  • Wait at least five minutes to allow gas to dissipate before re-lighting. See lighting your heater” for instructions.

WARNING
For your safety! Heater will be hot after use.
Handle with extreme care.
Shutting Down Your Heater

  • Push in the control knob and turn it . The burner may make a slight popping noise as it turns off.
  • Turn the LPG Gas Cylinder valve off and disconnect the regulator when the heater is not in use.

After Operating Your Heater

  • The gas control knob should be in the OFF position.
  • The LPG Gas Cylinder valve should be OFF.
  • Disconnect the gas line.
  • The heater should be stored upright in a secure location.

WARNING
For your safety!

  • Do NOT touch or move the heater for at least 45 minutes after use
  • Reflector is hot to the touch.
  • Allow reflector to cool before touching.

Operation Checklist
Perform these checks before each use:

  1. Read the instruction manual to understand correct operation and precautions.
  2. All components are properly assembled, intact and operable.
  3. No alterations have been made.
  4. All gas connections are secure and do not leak.
  5. Wind velocity is below 16 kph.
  6. Unit will operate at reduced efficiency below 4.4°C.
  7. Heater is for use outdoors (outside any enclosure).
  8. There is adequate fresh as ventilation.
  9. Heater is away from gasoline or other flammable liquids or vapors.
  10. Heater is away from windows, air intake openings. sprinklers and other water sources.
  11. Heater is at least 1000mm on top and at least 500mm on sides from combustible materials.
  12. Heater is on a hard and level surface.
  13. There are no signs of spider or insect nests in the heater.
  14. All burner passages are clear.
  15. All air circulation passages are dear.
  16. Children and adults should be alerted to the hazards of high surface temperatures and should stay away to avoid burns or clothing ignition.
  17. Young children should be carefully supervised when they are in the area of the heater.
  18. Clothing or other protective material should not be hung from the heater, or placed on or near the heater.
  19. My guard or other protective device removed for servicing the heater must be replaced prior to operating the heater.
  20. Installation and repair should be done by a qualified service person. The heater should be inspected before each use and at least annually by a qualified service person.
  21. More frequent cleaning may be required as necessary. It Is imperative that control compartment burner and circulating air passageways of the heater be kept clean and free of debris and/or spider or Insect nests.

Maintaining Your Heater
To enjoy years of outstanding performance from your heater, make sure you perform the following maintenance activities on a regular basis:

  • Keep exterior surfaces clean.
  • Use soapy water for cleaning. Never use flammable or corrosive cleaning agents.
  • While cleaning your unit, be sure to keep the area around the burner and control compartment dry at all times. Do not submerge the control valve assembly. If the gas control is submerged in water, do NOT use it. It must be replaced.
  • Air flow must be unobstructed. Keep controls. burner, and circulating air passageways clean. Signs of possible blockage include:
  • Gas odor with extreme yellow tipping of flame.
  • Heater does NOT reach the desired temperature.
  • Heater glow is excessively uneven.
  • Heater makes popping noise.
  • Spiders and insects can nest in burner or orifices. This dangerous condition can damage heater and render it unsafe for use. Clean burner holes by using a heavy-duty pipe cleaner. Compressed air may help clear away smaller particles.
  • Carbon deposits may create a fire hazard. Clean the dome and burner screen with warm soapy water if any carbon deposits develop.

NOTICE
In a salt-air environment (such as near an ocean), corrosion occurs more quickly than normal. Frequently check for corroded areas and repair them promptly. lip (for stainless steel models): Use high-quality automobile wax to help maintain the appearance of your heater. Apply to exterior surfaces from the post down. DO NOT apply to the emitter screen or domes.
Storing Your Heater

  • Always close the gas valve of the LPG Gas Cylinder after use.
  • Remove the pressure controller and the hose.
  • Check the tightness of the gas valve for damage. If you suspect damage, have it changed by your gas dealer.
  • Never store LPG Gas Cylinder in a subterranean area or in a place without adequate air ventilation.
  • Store the heater upright in an area sheltered from direct contact with inclement weather (such as rain, sleet, hail, snow, dust, and debris.)
  • You can cover your heater to protect the exterior surfaces and to help prevent dirt build-up in air passages. Never leave the LPG Gas Cylinder exposed to direct sunlight or excessive heat.

Only a qualified service person should repair gas passages and associated components.
CAUTION
Always allow heater to cool before attempting service.
