CAUTION
- Safety devices are provided for your own protection. Never modify or bypass safety devices.
Risk of electric shock
DANGER
- Only connect protection class I devices to properly earthed power sources.
- The voltage indicated on the type plate must match the voltage of the power source.
- Never touch the mains plug and socket with wet hands.
WARNING
- Only connect the device to an electrical connection which has been set up by a qualified electrician as per IEC 60364-1.
- In case of any foam formation or escaping liquids, switch off the device immediately and remove the mains plug or the battery pack.
- Check that the mains connection cable with mains plug is undamaged each time before using the device. To avoid any possible danger, a damaged mains connection cable must be immediately replaced by the manufacturer, or the authorised customer service department or a qualified electrician.
- Do not damage the power supply and extension cable by running over it, crushing or yanking it or similar. Protect the power supply cable from heat, oil and sharp edges.
- Only use the mains connection cable prescribed by the manufacturer, including when replacing the cable. For order no. and type see operating instructions.
- Only replace couplings on the power supply or extension cable with those with the same splash guard and the same mechanical strength.
ATTENTION
- Switch-on procedures will generate short-term voltage drops.
- Unfavourable mains conditions may cause other devices to be impaired.
- In case of a network impedance of less than 0.15 ohms, no malfunctions are to be expected.
Operation
DANGER
- When using the device in hazard zones (e.g. service stations), adhere to the respective safety regulations.
- Operation in areas where there is a risk of explosion is prohibited unless the device is explicitly intended for this. See chapter Intended use in the operating instructions.
- Risk of explosion. Certain substances can form explosive vapours or mixtures with the suction air due to turbulence and corrode the materials in use on the device.
- Never use the device to vacuum up combustible gases, liquids or dusts (reactive dusts) unless it is explicitly designated for this. See chapter Intended use in the operating instructions.
- Never use the device to vacuum up reactive metal dusts (e.g. aluminium, magnesium, zinc) in combination with strongly alkaline or acidic detergents.
- Never use the device to vacuum up undiluted brine or acids.
- Never use the device to vacuum up organic solvents (e.g. petrol, paint thinner, acetone, heating oil).
- Never use the device to vacuum up any burning or smouldering objects/matter.
WARNING
- Never use the device to vacuum up people or animals.
- Only use the device for vacuuming up dusts that are harmful to human health if it is expressly designated for this use. Observe the safety instructions in the operating instructions.
CAUTION
- Check the device and the accessories each time before operation, in particular the mains connection and extension cable, to make sure it is safe and working correctly. Pull out the mains plug in case of any damage and do not use the device.
- Never leave the device unattended when it is not switched off and with the mains plug or the battery pack removed.
ATTENTION
- Do not operate the device at temperatures below 0 °C.
- Never use the device outdoors at low temperatures.
Dry vacuum cleaner
WARNING
- The device is only intended for dry cleaning. Only use the device outdoors during wet conditions if it is expressly designated for this use.
CAUTION
- Only vacuum up liquid media up to a temperature of 45 °C.
ATTENTION
- Only use the device for vacuuming coolants and lubricants with the corresponding equipment.
Devices with dust class L, M and H
DANGER
- Danger from dust that is harmful to your health. Wear a breathing protection mask of class P2 or higher and disposable clothing when performing maintenance work (e.g. filter change).
- Only trained personnel are permitted to use the device and the substances for which it is to be used, including the safe procedure for disposing of the vacuumed material.
- An air exchange rate L must be present in the room when the exhaust gas is returned into the room. To remain within the required limit values, the volume flow of returned air must be no greater than 50% of the fresh air volume (room volume VR x air exchange rate LW). Without special ventilation measures, the following applies: LW=1h1.
- This device contains dust that is harmful to your health. Emptying and maintenance, including removal of the dust bag, may only be performed by technical specialists wearing suitable personal protective equipment.
- Do not operate the device without the complete filtration system.
- Observe the applicable safety instructions for the materials being vacuumed.
- Apply the parking brake at the steering roller to ensure a secure footing for the device. The device may move uncontrollably if the parking brake is open.
- For servicing performed by the user, the device must be disassembled, cleaned and maintained only to the degree that this is possible without presenting a danger to the maintenance personnel and other persons. Suitable precautionary measures include detoxification before disassembly. Make provisions for local forced ventilation at the location where the device is to be disassembled, for cleaning the maintenance surface and to ensure adequate protection for the personnel.
- The exterior of the device should be detoxified by vacuuming and wiped clean, or treated with sealant before being removed from the hazardous area. All unit parts must be regarded as contaminated when they are taken from the hazardous area. Suitable measures must be taken to prevent distribution of the dust.
- All contaminated objects resulting from maintenance and repair work that cannot be satisfactorily cleaned must be correctly disposed of. Such objects must be disposed of in sealed bags in accordance with the applicable regulations for the disposal of this type of waste.
- Dust classes M and H only: Close the suction opening with the plug when transporting and servicing the device.
- Dust class H only: The effectiveness of the filtration of the device can be tested by the test method as specified in EN 60 335- 2-69 22.AA.201.2. This test must be carried out at least annually or more frequently if specified in national requirements. If the test result is negative, repeat the test with a new flat fold filter.
WARNING
- Safety devices providing hazard protection must be checked for correct safety-related functionality at least annually by the manufacturer or an appropriately instruction person, e.g. absence of leaks, filter damage, functionality of the monitoring devices (dust classes M and H only).
Devices with rotating brushes
DANGER
- Risk of electric shock. Never run
over the mains connection or the extension cable with
the rotating brushes of the suction head.
CAUTION
Unsuitable brushes endanger your safety. Only use the brushes supplied with the device or brushes recommended in the operating instructions.
Devices with pneumatic tyres
CAUTION
- Never exceed the maximum permissible tyre filling pressure. The tyre filling pressure needs to be read on the tyre and if necessary on the wheel rim. If these values differ, use the smaller value.
- Make sure that the pressure reducer is set correctly on the compressor before setting the tyre filling pressure.
- In case of devices with screw-in wheel rims: Make sure that all wheel rim bolts are tightened securely before setting the tyre filling pressure.
Care and service
WARNING
- Prior to cleaning, maintenance and replacement of parts, the device needs to be switched off and the mains plug or battery pack removed. Switch the device off before changing over to another function.
CAUTION
- Repairs may only be carried out by approved customer service sites or staff qualified in this area who are familiar with all relevant safety instructions.
- Clean the water lever limit facility regularly, checking for any signs of damage.
ATTENTION
- Pay attention to the safety inspection for mobile devices for industrial use in accordance with the locally applicable regulations
- Short-circuits or other damage. Do not clean the device with a hose or high-pressure water jet.
Devices with electrical connections in the suction hose
DANGER
- Risk of electric shock. Never immerse the hose in water for cleaning.
Accessories and spare parts
CAUTION
- Only use accessories and spare parts which are approved by the manufacturer. Only original accessories and original spare parts ensure that the appliance will run fault-free and safely
Transport
CAUTION
- Shut the motor down prior to transportation. Secure the device, taking into account its weight. See chapter Technical data in the operating instructions.
