BRESSER Explorer 130 Night Vision Device
Please read the safety instructions and the operating instructions carefully before use.
Keep these instructions for renewed use at a later date. When the device is sold or given to someone else, the instruction manual must be provided to the new owner/user of the product.
General Warning
DANGER!
Children should only use the device under adult supervision. Keep packaging
materials, like plastic bags and rubber bands, out of the reach of children,
as these materials pose a choking hazard.
Do not expose the device to high temperatures. Use only the recommended
batteries. Do not short-circuit the device or batteries, or throw them into a
fire. Excessive heat or improper handling could trigger a short-circuit, a
fire, or an explosion.
FIRE RISK!
Do not place the device, particularly the lenses, in direct sunlight. The
concentration of light could cause a fire.
RISK of ELECTRIC SHOCK!
This device contains electronic components that operate via a power source
(batteries). Children should only use the device under adult supervision. Only
use the device as described in the manual; otherwise, you run the risk of an
electric shock.
RISK OF CHEMICAL BURN!
Leaking battery acid can lead to chemical burns. Avoid contact of battery acid
with skin, eyes and mucous membranes. In the event of contact, rinse the
affected region immediately with plenty of water and seek medical attention.
NOTE!
Do not disassemble the device. In the event of a defect, please contact your
dealer. The dealer will contact the Service Centre and can send the device in
to be repaired, if necessary.
Use only the recommended batteries. Always replace weak or empty batteries
with a new, complete set of batteries at full capacity. Do not use batteries
from different brands or with different capacities. Remove the batteries from
the unit if it has not been used for a long time.
Privacy PROTECTION!
The nightvision device is intended only for private use. Please heed the
privacy of other people. Do not use them to look into apartments, for example.

Parts overview
POWER knob| • Long press for power on and off.
• Short press for 10 (0-9) levels of screen brightness.
MODE knob| • 4 modes available: Photo / Video / Playback / Menu (in a loop).
• When powered on, the default mode is Photo.
• Press M to change to the next mode.
ZOOM knob
| • In Photo or Video mode, press Zoom knob to zoom in at mul- tiple levels. The maximum zoom is 3x. Once reaching 3x, keep pressing to go back to 1x.
• In Playback mode, press Zoom knob to playback to the next file.
• In Menu mode, press Zoom knob to go up.
IR knob
| • In Photo or Video mode, press IR knob for 7 levels of brightness
(IR off > IR1 > IR2 > IR3 > IR4 > IR5 > IR6 > IR7 > IR off)
• In Playback mode, press IR knob to playback to the previous file.
• In Menu mode, press IR knob to go down.

TRIGGER knob
| • In Photo mode, press Trigger knob to take photos.
• In Video mode, press Trigger knob to start video recording and press once again to stop recording.
• In Playback mode, press Trigger knob to enter selected item.
Card Slot and USB port
| • Before inserting provided microSD card into the card slot, make
sure that the device is powered off.
Note:
USB port to be used for data transmission only, not for charging! Always use the provided USB cable to connect with a PC!

Installing batteries
(1) Remove the covers.
(2) Put in 3 pieces of AA/LR6 type batteries into each battery compartment. When inserting the batteries, pay attention to the correct polarity + and –.
(3) Re-attach the covers.

Inserting microSD card
(1) Make sure that the device is powered off!
(2) Insert the microSD card in the direction as shown. Push it into the card slot to lock it.
(3) To remove the card, push it to release. When the card is parti- ally ejected, pull it out.
Note:
When using a card with previous files saved, it is recommended to save the files to your computer first, and then format the card be – fore use. To format the card, press MODE knob several times to reach menu, and select “Format SD”.

Turning on the device
- Long press the POWER button to turn on the device. Once the power is on, look onto the LCD screen for first preview.
- Adjust the focus by turning the focus ring at the right front lens.
- For daytime use, make sure the IR is off (0). For night use, turn on the IR by pressing the IR knob. Increase the brightness by pressing the button repeatedly to set one of the 7 levels (IR1 to IR7).
- Long press the POWER knob to shut down the device.
- If the screen brightness needs to be adjusted, short press the Power button, or go to the “Menu Settings” to adjust. The device will save the brightness settings from the last use.
Taking a picture
- When the device is powered on, Photo mode is set by default.
- Check the left top corner of the screen for the icon. If the icon is not visible, press the MODE knob multiple times until the icon is shown.
- Turn the focus ring for focussing. (see “Turn on the device” section for details)
- At night, adjust the brightness by pressing the IR knob. (see “Turn on the device” sec-tion for details)
- Press the TRIGGER knob to take a picture.
Recording a video
- Turn on the device.
- Press the MODE knob to enter video mode. Check the left top corner of the screen for the icon. If the icon is not visible, press the MODE knob until the icon is shown.
- Turn the focus ring for focussing. (see “Turn on the device” section for details)
- At night, adjust the brightness by pressing the IR knob. (see “Turn on the device” sec-tion for details)
- Press the TRIGGER knob to start video recording, and press it again to stop recording.
Using digital zoom
Press the ZOOM knob to zoom in at multiple levels up to 3x. Once reaching 3x, keep pressing to go back to 1x.
Playback
- Press the MODE knob until the icon is shown in the top left corner of the screen.
- The LCD will show the last file saved. If it was a photo, the photo will be shown on the screen, with “JPG” wording on the left bottom corner. If it was a video, wording “AVI” will be shown on the left bottom corner.
- Press the TRIGGER knob to play, delete one, delete all, or exit.
- Press the IR knob to go to the previous file, and press ZOOM knob to go to the next file.
Data transmission
To upload the photos and videos, connect the device with a computer by using
the provided USB cable.
Note: The USB cable is for data transmission only, not for charging the
device.

Entering the menu and changing parameters
This is to set up parameters for the device if you wish to change default
settings. Press MODE knob multiple times until the Menu is shown. Press IR
knob to go down the menu or ZOOM knob to go up the menu. Press TRIGGER knob to
enter. Once the desired setting is selected, press TRIGGER knob to save it.
Press MODE knob to exit and go back to the Photo mode.

LCD Backlight
The default setting is 5.
Indicating backlight levels (0-9). The higher the setting, the brighter the
display.

Troubleshooting
Device Power Off:
- If the device fails to activate, check for defective, missing or improperly-installed batter-ies. Replace or install batteries correctly. Please make sure to use only Alkaline batteries.
Poor Image:
- If you wear glasses, please keep them on while using the device.
- For night observation, make sure that IR (infrared) is switched on. The darker the envi-ronment, the higher the infrared illumination.
- Adjust the focus by slowly turning the Focus wheel at the front bottom of the device. Make sure it is focused.
- During daylight hours, make sure the IR is off. For use during nighttime hours, make sure the IR is on.
Message “Please insert SD card” is shown but card is inserted
- Turn off the device and insert the card aain in the direction as shown in the graph. Note: The microSD card must to be inserted when the device is powered off.
- Check the microSD card compatibility.
- Try to insert the card more smoothly or insert a different microSD card.
Cleaning and Maintenance
Before cleaning the device, disconnect it from the power supply (remove batteries)! Only use a dry cloth to clean the exterior of the device. To avoid damaging the electronics, do not use any cleaning fluid. Clean the eyepieces and/or lenses only with a soft, lint-free cloth, (e.g. microfibre cloth). To avoid scratching the lenses, use only gentle pressure with the cleaning cloth. Protect the device from dust and moisture. Store it in the supplied bag or transporta-tion packaging. Remove the batteries from the unit if it is not used for a longer time.

DISPOSAL
Dispose of the packaging materials properly, according to their type, such as
paper or cardboard. Contact your local waste-disposal service or environmental
authority for information on the proper disposal.
Do not dispose of electronic devices in the household garbage!
As per Directive 2002/96/EC of the European Parliament on waste electrical and
elec-tronic equipment and its adaptation into German law, used electronic
devices must be collected separately and recycled in an environmentally
friendly manner.
In accordance with the regulations concerning batteries and rechargeable
batteries, disposing of them in the normal household waste is explicitly
forbidden. Please make sure to dispose of your used batteries as required by
law — at a local collection point or in the retail market. Disposal in
domestic waste violates the Battery Directive.
Batteries that contain toxins are marked with a sign and a chemical symbol.
