Remove motor and wheel assembly from existing fan. Refer to installation video for ease of removing motor and wheel assembly.
Choose the motor plate according to housing dimensions. Compare to your
existing motor plate to ensure the right fit.
Attach the new motor plate to
the new motor and wheel assembly. (Motor plate A shown, same procedure for
motor plate B).
WARNING
The motor power cord must be routed as shown to prevent electrical shock
caused by wire damage.
Skip this step if you have a 7 ½” x 7 ¼” fan housing -or- a 8” x 7 ¼” fan
housing with an existing metal scroll band. This step is for select fan models
only with a 8” x 7 ¼” fan housing that do not have an existing metal scroll
band. Bend plastic scroll band (pictured in grey) into a crescent shape. Place
ends of scroll band behind the double tabs. Align the center slot of the
scroll band on the single tab in the fan housing. If your fan housing does not
have double tabs, skip this step.
Snap new motor and wheel assembly into the fan housing and plug in motor.
Insert 2 tabs on the motor plate into the 2 slots on the fan housing. Pivot
the assembly up and snap the third motor plate tab into the fan housing (motor
plate A) -or- push up until touching the wiring box, then secure with screw
(motor plate B).
Attach new cover by squeezing one spring and insert into fan slot. Repeat with the other spring. Push cover up against the ceiling or wall.
