Checkup procedure of the Induction Cooktop Heating Zones after installation:
- To ensure that the assembly on the Ranges with induction Cooktops is working as intended, a checkup procedure must be performed.
- Have 2 saucepans suitable for induction cooktops ready.
- Use pans suitable for induction cooktops only!
- Refer to Albertine 36 User and Installation Guide, pgs. 6-10 or CornuFé 44 User and Installation Guide, pgs. 6-7 for the saucepan’s material and minimum diameter suitable for Induction
Check Single Induction Zone
- Fill a saucepan with about 2 cups of water and place it on the Front Left Zone (Burner).
- Turn the Front Left Zone’s Knob slightly clockwise to check that the L1 function engages and is displayed on the Cooktop Control Display. From this moment you’ll hear the cooling fan working and the inductor vibrate.
- Refer to the User Guide for Albertine 36, pg 7 or for CornuFé 44, pg 7 for display symbols explanations. If the Saucepan Detector is displayed, it means that the saucepan used is not suitable for Induction. E + 1 digit is an Error Code.
- Testing for 10 seconds on each function is sufficient
- Continue to turn the knob slightly clockwise to display the L2 function. Continue to turn the knob slightly clockwise to display the L3 function.
- Next, continue to gradually turn the knob clockwise from Power 1 to Power 9. You’ll see that the water starts heating up.
Continue to turn the Knob clockwise up to the P (Power Boost) position which is the maximum power of the Zone. You can now turn the knob off by turning counterclockwise until position 0.If no Error Code E + 1 digit from the concerned Zone appears on the display, it means that the Zone is working properly.
- Repeat the same procedure for each Zone of the Cooktop. Important Note: You will notice that as Zone’s glass plate becomes hot, an H indicator is displayed.
Check Powerboost on 2 Zones simultaneously
- Zone 1 and Zone 2 are linked together as are Zone 4 and Zone 5.
- This means that when using Zone 1 on Power Boost and then switching Zone 2 to Power Boost, the power to Zone 1 will reduce slightly. The last Zone switched to Power Boost always takes priority. Zones 4 and 5 work in the same way. Zone 3 is not shared.
CornuFé 36” Albertine ONLY, Check Bridging Zone function
- Only Zones 4 and 5 can be bridged, creating an area, ideal for use with an Induction Griddle (not supplied). The Griddle should be Induction suitable, which means made of Induction approved materials, flat bottom, and be large enough to cover Zones 4 and 5 hotplates of the Cooktop DO NOT use zones 1, 2, or 3 to heat the Griddle.
- Place 2 saucepans with 2 cups of water or an Induction Griddle (not supplied) on Zones 4 and 5.
- To activate the Bridging Zone function, simultaneously turn the two Right-Hand Zones control knobs completely clockwise and hold until the [ ] symbols appear in the center of the cooktop control display. The temperature can then be adjusted using the most Right-Hand Knob.
- Turn both knobs counterclockwise to cancel the Dual-Zone function and return to normal operation.
- If no Error Code E + 1 digit from the concerned Zone appears on the display, the Bridging Zone function works properly.
